i'm still not ready!

Okay, i'm starting to get a little nervous, lol, i'm due in 6 days, and i'm totally not ready for another kid in the house! i haven't nested AT ALL, and in fact, i don't even have the carseat--or anything else for that matter--assembled (i did finally get it out of storage, and wash the cover though, lol). Oh yeah, and my house is still a disaster. I'm the WORST "housewife" ever!!! My MIL actually asked my husband what my problem is *groans* she's the most anal-retentive freak of a person to walk the planet, and i'm probably the most anal-expulsive. It's not a good mix. She knows i'm always like this too, and i don't "take care of her little boy" Bleck!!!

To make things just a *tiny* bit more stressful, our van is in the shop with transmission issues. Figures, eh? We've had the dumb thing for almost 4 months, and NOW it takes a big crap on us. Argh. We're lucky, it's *only* going to cost $650 to fix, but unfortunately we also had to buy propane this month, so i'm borrowing money from my parents. : I haven't owed my parents money EVER and this is killing me. We're also borrowing my mom's car so my husband can get to work, and i can get to my appointments and stuff...

So yeah, we're broke (ok, in debt!), and i'm completely unmotivated to get things ready for the baby. WHY CAN"T I PULL IT TOGETHER??? At least NOW i should be anxious to have things ready, but i'm not! i'm not ready mentally either--i'm a freakin basketcase!!! Anyone else with me???

Gosh it sounds like you aren't ready...but as soon as things come back together you'll be ready. Baby's comin no matter what is on the outside!

ps I'd get that carseat ready, just in case

You'll get it together. And most likely you aren't the worst housewife ever. (what an icky word anyway) My mom always said "dull women have immaculate houses" MIL sounds like she has a stick you-know-where :LOL

Anyway, I know how you feel about not being ready. I've cleaned every room in the house top-to-bottom, but have avoided "baby's room" like the plague. Not that baby will be spending much time in there but still. He has a whole room, I should probably clean it.

Don't worry mama, you'll either be ready or you won't be-either way you're still a good person and and good mother!!!

nesting

I keep hoping that "nesting" will hit, but apparently it is just a nasty rumor. It would be helpful, since the house is a mess and I have absolutely no interest in cleaning it.

Baby's room is in perfect condition, though... everything washed, clean and ready to go. I needed to do that to assure myself he was real


A part of me has been hoping my mother would get sick of complaining about my house and clean it herself, but then again I'm afraid that all my belongings would just end up in the trash!!!

I already went through my nesting weeks ago, now I am just tired and don't want to do anything but lay around and moan and complain. Poor DH! I was starting to get really nervous too, up until about 2 weeks ago I still didn't even have a carseat, didn't have my hospital bag packed, didn't have a lot of things ready... We finally got everything we needed and I feel so much better now. Everything is pretty much ready for the baby to get here. Don't worry, you will get everything done that you need to and will be ready. Babies don't care how clean your house is so I definitely would put that at the bottom of my list of priorities.
