Pro-BF Pedi Visit

I took my daughter to her 2 year old well-baby check. The nurse was going through the standard check list really fast. One question was "Is she still on a bottle?" I said no because she has never been on one. Then I said, "She's still breastfeeding. Do you need to know that?"
The nurse replied, "No, I only need to know if she's still on a bottle. She can nurse until she's ten as far as I'm concerned. I'm all for breastfeeding. And since she never took a bottle, the answer is still no." I was so happy about her positive extended breastfeeding comments. It's really nice to belong to a great pediatriac practice. Happy Sigh here.

Cool!
You are in our area -- who is your doc??

Our pede is very pro-BF, but his nurses are not. Sigh.

THat's awesome!

My ped is very pro bf. However the nurse we usually get is defiinitely not. The other 2 are, but she isn't and I don't know why we always get her. She actually had a baby around when I had Liam, so the 2 times he's been in so far, I've had the nice AP nurse (talks to me about how great co-sleeping is, etc. LOL!) Anyway, this other nurse, the one we usually get ALWAYS asked me what formula Jake was on and it REALLY ticked me off! I mean, does she bother looking at the chart first or what? The kid never had formula, why would she assume he was on it every appt? And then AFTER he was a year old, again every single friggin time, she asked if he still took bottles, and every time I'd say no, he never did. Grrr! Never bothered to tell her I was still nursing him after he was a year old. My ped always assumed I still was, although he'd ask. He always put it like and you're still nursing him, right? And even asked me how tandem nursing was going when I took Liam in for his 1 week check. Said it ina way that made me feel like he was afraid of offending me if I'd quit, but he knew how hard it could be at first. I love my ped!
