I had posted in here I think once about me getting super pains and was wondering what they were. Looking back I think they probably were contractions and I was just slowly going into labour.
So, the early morning of the 10'th I was awake all night anticipating the arrival of my stepfather whom I haven't seen for over two years. I was hoping the baby would wait for him to come since I wanted him to be able to be around me while I was pregnant and then once the baby was born. My dh left to go pick him up at the airport at around three or so and I started getting huge stomach pains. Figures. I had toilet problems that night and so I kept running to the toilet often. They started to get really hardcore by the time they came back that I even felt the need to make 'ow' noises. My Mil was staying with us and she decided to call an ambulance since we don't have a car or anything. I was going to fight it but for some reason I shut up. Luckily I did. By the time we got to the hospital I was already fully dilated. They took me upstairs into the delivery room and made me get into a nightgown. They broke my water and within like five minutes or so I was starting to push. After this everything was so confusing. They switched me to another bed and tons of nurses came in. One to hold an iv in my arm with glucose, one nurse holding back one leg another holding back the other, one lady "coaching" me, my doctor. And at the end the lady who was coaching me was pushing the hell out of my stomach. Honestly the pushing part didn't hurt too much. It was so weird... Everything went so fast. I got to the hospital at around seven something and by 8:20 she was born. Everyone was sort of yelling and I was too busy trying to push when I felt like it. It was like the next minute I knew it they pulled her out and she let out a little cry. I didn't cry like I thought I would - I was completely out of it. I just held her on my chest and was thinking 'uh, wtf'. The placenta part wasn't at all like I pictured it. They like stuck their hand up my vagina and grabbed it. I didn't do any real pushing to get it out. Then came the worse part. Stitches. I got an internal tear and I was not being very still about it. It didn't hurt alot but it was really uncomfortable for them to do it and plus I was really restless. The after part I think was the worst I ever went through. Worse than anything that happened during pregnancy, worse than contractions, worse than pushing, etc. I was so sore and miserable. And breastfeeding was really hard. I ended up having her latch on wrong and got a case of cracked and bleeding nipples and then my milk came in. A few nights I almost gave up. Then I started to pump and now my nipples are mostly better and I'm working on breastfeeding again. Luckily she didn't forget how to suck.
I didn't have much of a babymoon at first but now I'm starting to get into it.
