Excellent science picture books!

I came across this series in the library called, Let's-read-and-find-out science. They're picture books with titles such as:

Baby whales drink milk
Bugs are insects
Ducks don't get wet
From seed to pumpkin
From tadpole to frog
A nest full of eggs

They are so interesting and informative. I just brought a stack of 25 of them home and didn't say a word about them. My Dd loves them and has learned so much scientific information without any real effort.

Thanks. I always love being turned on to something good.

We love these, too. I learn something everytime I read a new one. Also good are the Question and Answer science books also by Scholastic. They have titles like "Why don't haircuts hurt?" They are more complicated and detailed than the read and find out titles, and a lot longer but great for the kids who can't get enought science (like mine).

We have How Many Teeth? and my dd really likes it.
Before we read it she was really scared at the thought of losing teeth but now she is excited.

I'll have to look into more of the Let’s-Read-and-Find-Out Science books.

We started with From Seed to Pumpkin because Dd is very interested in Halloween and plant growth.

Then she asked me if "stomach bugs" fly or crawl. Yikes, so I got one about being sick. They explain things so well and my DD is riveted to them.

Now she wants to know why some people are black, but they don't seem to have a book on that one. Now I have to figure out how to explain genetic drift to a 4 year old.
