Has anyone noticed that their baby moves more or less right before labor starts? I guess it's wishful thinking but the baby really slowed down her movement last night and today and I was hoping that maybe it's a sign that she's coming out soon. I know my midwife said that babies should be active at all times, even during labor and the baby is still moving, just not as much as she has been. I honestly can't remember how my previous pregnancies were, if the baby moved a lot during or before labor. So for those of you that have delivered, what have been your experiences with this?

Both of my older children slowed down before and during labor (but I can't remember how early!). My little guy has slowed down quite a bit in the last few days, but I'm not looking at it as a big sign. Chances are he's out of room!

hmm I've never been pregnant before, but she's actually moving A LOT more than earlier in my pregnancy, and she was quite an active baby from the start. I'm over 41 weeks, so she should be getting ready to come out soon (right..RIGHT??!! Please tell me she's comming out soon!!!
) Last night she actually woke me up and kept me up for a few hours with her kicking/dancing. I've always heard that babies slow down before labor, I hope that mine is just different and her being active really means that labor is getting closer!

the thrasher
My first son actually got a lot more active during labor-- as if he was determined to crawl his way straight out of my stomach.I actually remember being a little worried about it.
His movements were a lot more violent and large-- my whole stomach was moving from side to side.

I don't know about my other pregnancies but I did notice that with this one. She was moving tons through all the pre-labor stuff, but last Thursday she hardly moved (she was born at 9:45 pm). It scared me a bit, actually, because she HAD been so active in the days before.
A friend of mine had her son kicking like crazy all through labor. It was funny to watch her belly jump beetween contractions.
