I'm confused? What is it???

Umm. Semi-embarrassing question here!! Are mucous plugs always pink? Or can they be clear? Dp and I just had sex (20 mins ago). When I stood up afterwards, it felt like a lot more leaked out of me then should have, and I got this gooey clear stuff on my fingers. Yes we are both fairly sure it isn't semen! Any things that should be happening now? Or is this one of thse things that can be a sign of labor starting in days or a week? (I'm due Monday) TIA

The mucous plug is clear, and it MAY be streaked with blood/pinkish. Probably was part of your plug if it wasn't semen.

I got all excited yesterday to find some goo in my underwear until I figured it was probably gelatin remnants from the EPO! :LOL

Well, it's good to know I can come here and get an answer. This is one of those things I wouldn't have wanted to to call the midwifes office about!! :LOL
Since this morning I haven't noticed anything else, so I'm thinking you are right Stephane, it was probably just a part of the plug. Thank you!!

Hello mama, I lost some of my plug too for the past few days, so whens it gonna happen, :LOL just kidding. Epo stands for evening primrose oil, it helps soften the cervix, my midwife told me to put one in my vagina up as close to my cervix as I can get, and you can also take them orally. Hope that helps!

I had the same thing happen to me this morning! My due date was yesterday and this morning about 2 tbsp of clearish jelly just slipped out. wow! this baby really is real and will be coming out soon....crazy.

My mucous plug was clear initially, then streaked with blood two or three days later when labor started. What an exciting time, when labor is imminent!! I read all these posts and want to have another one already! (Is that twisted or what? We just had our fourth.)

Mine was kind of cloudy at first, and only coming out in little bits at a time. Now it is clear and more snotty. Since last night I am losing a lot more than before, it is so gross. No blood though DH thinks I'm nuts for going into the bathroom every half hour to "wipe" LOL

With dd (born 9 days "early"), I lost bits of my mucous plug for about 3 weeks before actually going into labour. My first sign of labour was a bloody show (pink/red tinged mucous). I was also having contractions that I had to cope with through the entire time. For me, this meant when I actually did go into labour, it was pretty short.
Don't want to get you ladies down at all - most go into labour within a couple days of starting to lose the mucous plug. Oh, and what finally triggered labour was having sex twice in a row the morning dd was born - we had actually been avoiding sex because of my fear of it bringing on labour too soon at that point. So, if you're itching to get things going, especially since you've already noticed a correlation in your own body between sex and losing some of the plug . . . go ahead and GIO!! Sending labour vibes your way!!

Adding my two cents from the November post. With my last pregnancy I had a clear mucousy stuff for about a week before I was induced with DD. I have heard that the actual plug can be light pink mucous and even brown mucous. But from my experience it was just clear. Good luck! Sending positive birthing vibes your way.

Hooray! I lost some more today-it was very pink and bloody looking!! (I hope no one ever takes that sentence out of context) :LOL

I couldn't sleep well last night because I had contractions allllllllll night. Thank god they weren't painful but i could feel my belly getting rock hard and then softening. I told DP and I think he's now getting nervous!! (translation-he's afraid to GIO because we might hurt the baby )

Thanks!! Buit no major changes yet. Some infrequent contractions and more cervix pain than usual...I'm drinking my labor tea and going to take a warm bath tonight. Walking all day sure was tiring!! I was so hopeful this morning because in the few hours of dreaming I did get last night I kept hearing someone say, "He's coming today, he's coming today"

Hmm, maybe they meant tomorrow!!

Ok, I'm happy for you all that you're losing your plugs and all, but I'm way more jealous that you can still manage sex! I can barely move I hurt so bad. I would love to have sex, but I don't think dp would be all that turned on with me moaning and crying through the whole thing!

well, as my MW said, you don't have to enjoy it..you just need the deposit! anyway maybe you can try different positions and see if any of them are better for you?

EXACTLY!!!

I didn't really enjoy it per say. well, ok I did, but it wasn't a nimble, olympic event like conception was!! Trying different different positions is the key...because on your back is the worst right now

Nope, I passed "enjoyment" months ago. I'm now in the PAIN zone. I've got so much pelvic pressure and pubic bone pain that I can barely get out of my chair. I'm sure I'll have sex again though, someday.
