I felt safe there as a child and as an adult I was raising my child at the same place.
In a different neighborhood even I would certainly have felt differently.
Where I currently live I dont knwo any of our neighbors. When my dd was little I knew people on every street between our house and the school.
Plus I am more paranoid of traffic and begin hit by a car than kidnapping.
THis same daughter was not allowed to cross a busy street with a light till she was like 12 etc. . .
The variables which affect this decisoin are different for each and every one of us.
