BUT since the sickness, mama can't get anything done with two lil ones on her all the time! talk about time crunch! I am just at a loss with what to organise for all the kids.

Hi Charmarty,

I'm throwing a birthday party for my 4 yo DD on the same day! We've been doing crafty things the past couple years with great success---with kids age 3-7 at parties. I put out a big bucket of beads and the girls have a blast making bracelets and necklaces. I also usually have a table with homemade play dough and rolling pins, cookie cutters etc... This year we're making sock puppets. Last year they painted aprons with fabric paints. All of these crafts take pretty minimal preparation---a trip to craft or fabric store for materials. HTH! I hope that your party goes well and that all of you have fun. Glad your girls are feeling better.

FOAM DOOR HANGERS! They went over great last year. Head to the craft store, do not pass go... :LOL Seriously, they're really cute and pretty affordable. Get a bucket of foam letters and a couple bags of foam shapes and a bag of foam door hangers or even visors. They're peel and stick and easy enough for all ages. HTH! Happy B-day

I saw a great idea in a magazine They crumbled cake inside little new dump trucks like the ones you can get at a dollar store and put brown ising on it. I'm doing it for dd bday. great party gifts to.. I also went to a part they had tied a donut to a string, hang it and you have to eat it off. Kind of like the ones when I was a kid with the apple. It was to cute. You can also since its almost halloween have the kids dress up, carve pupkins, have a hay fight, paint faces, make scary masks, make chocolate candys, candy apples. What about apple picken thats fun or making apple pie tis the season. Just some ideas good luck hope the little ones feel better.
lots of love

Hay is awesome for fall parties. My elementary school carnival had a "needle in the haystack" game, where they would hide small toys (action figures, matchbox cars, coins) in stacks of hay they had trucked in, and whoever found a toy got a prize.

They could decorate cookies, have relay races (egg and spoon?), maybe paint wood cutouts (you can get them at Michael's for less than $1 apiece).

HTH!

I always thought pinatas were fun and you could paint them to look like pumpkins as it is the season.

make your own pinata

I only eyeballed the link btw it might get you started. I remember doing this in kindergarten.
or, if you have the $$, you could just buy a pinata at a Party City or somesuch place. We got one that you had to pull the correct ribbon to make the trap door open (instead of having several 5 year olds try to bash something - shudder).
