Elliesmama, yep, this is my first babe. I'm 21 weeks, 2 days today I'm starting to feel big, though, which is scary since I have 4 more months to go! My mom is freaking me out that I'm having twins ~ SHE did & she didn't know until a week before my twin & I were born. Then again, she told me they only had stethescopes back then so it was more hit and miss. My doppler says ONE so far, lol. I'm starting to feel him/her move, though it's erratic and I can't determine any regularity to the movements. I am feeling pretty good right now - no more morning sickness <thank goddess> - and I'm trying to "stockpile" sleep, LOL. I've started washing my cloth diapers so they'll be all fluffed up and de-waxed by the time the baby is here. I'm also trying to get organized at work so my poor substitute won't be overwealmed, LOL - cause I do NOT want calls from work when I'm on leave, kwim? I definately look pregnant now and that's kinda neat. I've wanted to be a mom for so long now (going on 15 years!) that I'm just estatic to finally be pregnant and showing. My family is getting excited, my friends are besides themselves with joy (and fighting over who gets to hold the baby most), and I'm feeling really peaceful and right with the world Life is good.

Jasper and Lukas are here! And healthy! And home! I posted about the birth in "I'm Pg," but here are the basic stats:

Lukas Beach was born at 8:31 a.m. weighing 8 lbs 7 oz, 21 inches long.
Jasper Lee was born at 8:32 a.m. weighing 6 lbs 4 oz, 20 inches long.

Life is wonderfully crazy. Thanks for all the well wishes!

Hey Madison-- How's it going? I'm at the point where I got so many comments on how huge I am that I was practically in tears at my last prenatal appointment (28 weeks), imagining a 12 lb baby. Turns out, I'm right on target with both my weight gain and size. However, I do have elevated blood sugar (again) and am going in for the 3 hour test tomorrow--yuck!

Why do people feel they have to comment on a pregnant woman's size?

The baby is kicking and moving all the time these days! Its so distracting, yet reassuring, too.

Hey Elliesmama

I'm 27w-1d today and I hear you on the size thing! I have definately "popped", yet I still have only gained 10 lbs the entire pregnancy! It's ALL in front and high, so it looks like more, LOL. It's starting to feel awkward getting out of bed ~ another 12 weeks of this seems like a really long time! My mom is freaking me out "you're HUGE" ~ this from a woman who gained 15 lbs with me and my twin, LOL, and 20 lbs with each of my sisters and who never looked pregnant (my twin and I were 3 lbs 1 oz each). She freaks me out when she keeps asking me if I'm having twins!

I was at the store the other day and another pregnant woman was in line across from me, so I ask "So, when are you due?" and she says, "In 2 weeks" - god, she looked the same size as me! Argh! There was no way I was telling her that I still had 3 months to go!

My babe is really mellow. No bouncing or kicking, just "waves" and rolls. This weekend was the first time I felt him/her completely do a sommersault or turn! And it was a slow move, not a gymnastic event. S/he doesn't disturb me at night at all, I can just feel him adjust herself to my new position when I move, kinda mimicing my movements and settling in. I only get kicked regularly when I wear pants that are too tight that cut me off in the middle, LOL! I also have started kinda "keeping track" of the movements because s/he IS SO mellow. It's a bit worrysome, but I think it's a personality issue. As long as I feel movement a couple times a day, I am trying not to worry about it. His/her heartbeat is always strong and steady at the prenatal appointments, and it's right on for size etc. Though a small fear I have is that there are TWO hidden in there and it's "mellow" because they are running out of room and can't move as much - I keep asking the midwives to check for two heartbeats and they laugh and humor me Won't they be surprised if there ARE two in there!

Well, I guess I should get back to work, LOL. This is so much more fun, though~!
