6 weeks PP check tomorrow...what meds the best to start

I have my 6 week PP check with my OB tomorrow and expect that she might suggest medication for my PPD symptoms. I posted a couple of days ago about nausea/no appetite and found out since then that I have a severe gastritis. But on top of it I still feel down, no energy, no joy...can't remember the last time I laughed. I sure some of that comes from sleep-deprivation, having a high-needs fussy baby and toddler, being physically sick...but I don't know...I just don't feel like myself. I was in therapy for anxiety/panic before (4 years ago...never any meds for it) and it really helped. But with depression, I just don't know how talk therapy or even behavioural therapy would make me feel better. I'm just sick of feeling so low.
So I'm asking all the Mamas here that are on medication...if my OB suggests I take something, which one's good with breastfeeding and doesn't suppress the appetite too much. I'm already loosing weight way to quickly because of the gastritis. Prozac? Zoloft?

i think zoloft is supose to be the "safest" to use according to hales and kelleymom, ect. I tried it but it was not for me at all, it was hurting me and dh's relationship b/c I have NO sex drive, it wasn't a good thing for us. I switched to paxil and it's been great i only take it durring the fall and a little into the winter for sesional depression. But i would say zoloft is best to start/try first.

I am on effexor and that has always worked for me....My dr thinks it's safe for preg and I have read (dr hale's site?) that it is fine for bf....My dr also thinks SSRIs are the best class of meds out there.

Tell your dr alll of your concerns and situation and they will find the perfect fit for you.....I am glad that you are reaching out....
