Anybody ready for another decluttering challenge? - Page 6

After cleaning out the closet yesterday, I cleaned out the "Ebay box" and ended up just throwing them in with the 5 bags of donatable stuff...and dropped it all off this morning. I can't believe there was that much stuff in there!

I'm going to clean out the babe's toybox later today, but those toys are going to my sister for her babe.

We got the toybox cleaned...another whole bag gone!

excited to post on here that i got rid of 2 bags of donatable stuff and 3 trashbags full as well as 2 huge boxes full of trash from our basement and other areas! this is so fun. why did i have so much junk?

This thread has been haunting me . So I wet down to the basement and started with a small section near my laundry area. I was able to get some laundry done, reorganize the area and it works better for me now. Plus so much cleaner . Oh, and I now have 5 less items in my house .

DUH, I cleaned out ds1's room last week and forgot to post. I'm estimating here but I would guess that I got rid of about 15 bags of stuff.

He has only missed one thing. I wish Christmas with the in-laws was a long way off

this morning I got rid of:
glider and ottoman
bouncey seat
walker
new car seat we never got around to using
a garbage bag full of baby clothes
a garbage bag full of maternity clothes
a box of books
a bunch of magasines
a pocket diaper that didnt fit my kids anymore
6 prefolds
6 doublers
1 cover (new!)
I have hanging on my gate 3 bags of stuffed animals and a bag of new toiletries waiting for their new owner to come grab them

The house looks much better....but Im totally not finished!

I'm getting there.. slowly but surely
Dumped off 3 bags at the charity clothing drop-box today & listed two things on freecycle..
So we'll say 50/150 so far. But my goal should really be more like 500

I'm over my 150 goal, technically. We cleaned out the books, VHS and CD cabinets on SAt/Sun. I had over 110 CDs alone to sell. (I'm going to try secondspin.com)

Anyway, I'm counting CDs, books and VHS as only 1 each, so my new total is 49.
Ugh! I just realized Thanksgiving is next week. Unless I light a fire under my butt, I may end up counting the books, CDs and VHS tapes after all.

Me too. Geesh I guess I didn't realize how difficult it would be to get rid of 150 groups of items.

Yesterday:

- 1 Large stack of dishes donated to fire station
- 1 electric steamer donated to swap shop at town dump

Thanksgiving is almost here!

9 more items to the consignment shop.

22 pieces of clothes to freecycle

1 old pair of shoes thrown out (ya know, I really HATE throwing things out because I know it will end up in a landfill somewhere. I would much rather recycle it. But you can't recycle these shoes and I don't think anyone would want them)

Anyway, my new total is ....... 146!!! Yeah - I know I'll be able to hit 150 by tonight. Then I'm starting over to get rid of 150 more things by Christmas/New Years.

How's everyone doing? Thanksgiving is almost here.....

a bunch of wire hangers-gave back to the dry cleaners
a brand new dress that's way too big for me-gave to a friend
a poster I was never going to hang-tossed

I made it! I threw away 11 old stained bibs early Thanksgiving morning. If we have baby #3 he or she will be treated to nice, new bibs. So my grand total was 157!

I put about 25 items out for the thrift store pick up, but it was WAY SHORT of 150 total. Oh well. Who's up for another before-the-end-of-the-year challenge?
