I took my son to his 1 mo. check up and my dr. was great with my co sleeping and bf and no vaxing. One thing he did do wrong (in my eyes) was pull down his foreskin before I could even get a chance to say no. Im really worried. Please tell me everythings ok.

He'll be fine, just leave it alone for now. I think it's "repeated" retractions that cause scar tissue and problems, once probably won't cause any lasting problems. And don't let that doc go near your son's penis ever again!

It is so sad that here in the USA dr r so ignorent about intact penis care. Next visit before the exam even begins explain to the dr that the penis is not even to be touched. Then still be prepaired to physicaly stop the dr I went thru this I told the ped. not to retract ds and just as soon as the diaper came loose he tried to retract it anyway. grrrrrr U might wanna print out a intact care agreement form. ( I dont have the link but I am sure someone here does)

Ur ds will be fine as long as this dosnt happen over and over again.

If u read the sticky A Warning To Parents Of Intact Sons at the top of the thread it will give u a great idea of what u may be up against.

Print out the AAP fact sheet on the care of the uncircumcised penis and write a letter to your doctor enclosing it. If you continue to see this doctor, make sure you tell him not to touch your ds' penis before the diaper comes off. Better yet, don't take the diaper off - there's no reason.

Keep an eye on your ds for signs of redness/trauma, but he should be fine.
