What do you think of Burt's skin care products?

I am searching for skin care products. Not age defying items, just good items to keep my skin nice. Cost is an issue and I would like to go into a Burts co-op but I'm afraid to invest in a lot of money for something I won't like. http://www.camocare.com/ is another option. I want to go with something more natural and more gentle on my skin. I have been happy with my current products but they are not natural and I am running out and need to restock.

I LOVE the Burt's Bees products - they all smell SO good! A good way to try their products is by buying one of their sample travel packs, which have six-ten different products in mini-sizes.

My very favorite of their products are the Apricot Baby Oil (smells amazing, I use it for OCM) and the Almond Milk Moisturizer. Others I've really liked are the Carrot Nutritive lotion, Wild Lettuce toner, Banana hand cremem, peppermint chapstick-types and I use their concealer (makeup).

I really like /jason/'s new Red Elements line - I bought the moisturizer the other day as I ran out of my usual spa purchase - it is *perfect*! Non-greasy, scentless, paraben-free...I love it!

You can check out all of the products you are interested in here http://www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep2/ first, see if any of the ingredients are *bad* and if they have any health risks. Might make making a decision a bit easier.

seaheroine-what is OCM? I love the apricot baby oil too- I use it in the wipes solution and after baths if we're really dry.

I also really really like the buttermilk lotion. I hope I got some in the co-op. I really can't remember now! LOL

I love Burts Bees lip color, it feels just like their peppermint balm. And the Pore Refining Mask, I don't spend a lot of time on my face, but I feel so pampered when I use a mask, and this one is my favorite.

We use Burt's Bees products. DH really likes the rum aftershave. Anyway, I thought the buttermilk lotion's scent was a bit overpowering on a baby. So, I use it now

Yes, the baby lotion smells really strong. I am really sensitive to odors and it's way too much, imo. But I love Burt's peppermint lip balm!

Just using baking soda to wash your face makes your skin feel SO great. For moisturizing, using just a simple oil, jojoba oil is good, olive oil isn't bad, works, even if your skin is prone to breakouts it's OK. It's not really the oil that is the problem, it's other things (for me, it was hormones, I have PCOS, once my diet was what it should be, I have wonderful skin, irritation was also a problem, and all the "anti-acne" stuff was actually working against me, dry skin also was a culprit, once again the "anti-acne" stuff was working against me). For a tightening mask, you can buy pure clay at almost any vitamin or health food shop.

For make-up, just a small amount of a natural concealer where you need it, then cornstarch to cut the shine and for finishing works wonderfully. For lipstick, a little cayenne (a *little-bitty* amount) mixed with oil will plump and color your lips naturally (makes the blood flow to your lips more, so they look rosy naturally).

Most of their stuff is 100% natural. My DH is allergic to anything that is not, so I really have to be careful. If I touch him with something not natural on, he will break out. My favorite is the marshmallow vanishing cream. It is the best lotion I have ever used on my face.
