omg, I LOVE the chiropractor!

I've never been to a chiropractor before and being 2 1/2 weeks overdue and in severe pain i decided to go on a friend's advice. Apparently there are lots of benefits to chiropractic care while pregnant including less back pain, easier shorter labors, and possible induction if your body is ready for the baby to come out. I just got home from the Dr and it was fantastic! My back pain is almost completly gone despite the extra 75 lbs I'm carrying. The baby has also dropped alot. The dr was able to open up my pelvis a bit so she had more room to go down. She also said that because I'm so overdue there is a good chance that the adjustment could induce labor for me, and if it doesn't do that, at least with the more open pelvis labor should be shorter/easier. I just wanted to let the rest of you know about this who are probably in just as much pain as I was. Oh, and ins usually covers it!

I went to a chiro for my last month of pregnancy b/c I had symphasis pubis dysfunction. It helped SO MUCH. I went from waddling and in nightly pain that was keeping me up to feeling really good after a few sessions.

Yes, I get some chiro adjustments as well as massage the last few weeks of pregnancy. I at first went because I fell and pulled muscles in my hips and pelvis. The massage and adjustment immediately improved it (I hadn't even been able to lay down I was in so much pain). I just kept going after that, and I did have a quick and easy labor!

Spread the word ladies!!! My profession needs advocates like you who have experienced chiropractic for what it is and recognize its significance in the world of "health"care.

As for me I'm the luckiest woman in the world... being a chiro and being married to one... I can't IMAGINE being pregnant without seeing a chiropractor!!!!!!!

I've always gotten adjusted throughout pregnancy & my labors were super quick & easy (3.5 hrs & 1hr.) Definitely helps to open up your pelvis. I also take the baby after birth asap - usually within a couple of days to get adjusted (& me too!) because I know there's a lot of trauma to both of us from delivery however uneventful it may be.

I've been going since 16 weeks (I had fallen down a few steps and had some pain, so MW recommended it).

I am absolutely 100% sure that my weekly appointments have kept me feeling fantastic and active throughout this pregnancy. I have had little to no discomfort overall and between the regular adjustments, prenatal yoga, walking and swimming, I feel like I'm in great shape for labor!

My chiro also has some great massage therapists working with him and those massages have been heavenly.

Now being a few days past EDD, I'm hoping that my adjustment yesterday will help out a bit in convincing the baby to come out...s/he might be a bit too comfy in there .

So to anyone on the fence about having chiropractic care during pregnancy, I HIGHLY recommend it.
