Stubborn Stain Help Required

My daughter spilled some liquid foundation makeup on her cotton doona cover on her bed. I never found out about it until it dried on there for a week and I had put it through the wash untreated and dried it on the line in the sun.

The stain is now firmly entrenched. I have tried (a) pre soak spray and scrubbing Sard Wonder Soap with a nail brush, (b) a paste of baking powder and water left on to soak then scrubbed with nail brush, and (c) a mixture of salt, vinegar and borax left on to soak then scrubbed with a nail brush.

Nothing so far has even lightened the stain.

I've bought some bleach suitable for use on fabrics but haven't tried it yet. I hate bleach.

Any suggestions for me to try?? What the heck do they put in this makeup that is soooo indestructable!

(Just had a thought - maybe - face make up remover? I haven't got any but I could get a cheap one and try it)

Thanks.

I haven't encountered any stains that a good long soak (or multiple soaks) in Oxyclean couldn't get out. I pretreat stains first with a concentrated Oxyclean mixture (apply with a toothbrush and rub it in a bit), let it sit for 30 minutes or so, then put it in the washer in hot hot water with more Oxyclean. After that sits for a day or so, stains are usually gone. Persistent stains might need more soaks.

I had a shirt that got mildew stains on it and it took probably 5-6 soaks, but it eventually did come out!
