Am I the only one who just. can't. sleep.?

Argh! And it's not like I'm not tired. I don't think it's anxiety. But I just lie awake. Of course, it doesn't help that 80% of the time my toddler wakes at night and I have to go sleep with him ("thrasher" is his nighttime nickname!).

I definitely didn't have this problem last time 'round. Is anyone else in the same boat?

I'm with you... I can't sleep either. Doesn't help that I'm up every 2 hours or so to go pee.

Sleep is eluding me also. Most nights I get 1-2 hrs uninterrupted sleep - then am up for 3-4 hrs tossing and turning. Then I go back to sleep but about every 1/2 hr or so am awake again. SUCKS. I do not see the purpose in this. Some things I see the purpose in....morning sickness for example. But momma's need their sleep!!!!!!!!!

Thrasher....that's funny. My 2 yr old is also pretty restless - although he has been sleeping pretty well lately. So he is sleeping away - while momma is tossing and turning!

Please share the purpose you see in m/s!!! I am desperate to reframe this. My idea of "free ab exercises" just isnt' cutting it. . .
Sorry to go OT there.
Hope you gals get more sleep soon! Mine is ok - not perfect, but once in a while I get a good night in. Now that the mouse is gone and not waking me up at 4am nibbling on our furniture it helps!

I'm so with you on this one! I'm also in the "getting up to pee" every five minutes camp. Last night, though, I just couldn't sleep--I ended up watching TV until 2 am. I'm a total zombie today...

OH GOD YES! And I have two kids that wake at night so when I do fall asleep one wakes up. Come 7:30 the entire house can still be snoozing and I am WIDE awake. I have furrows under my eyes because I am so damn tired. And I just cannot fit in a nap. here is hoping for some rest~~~

I'm having trouble with insomnia too. It's horrifying being awake for hours at night, and I end up worrying and stressing about things. I've figured it out. If I sleep when ds sleeps (9 PM to 7 AM) it is just not clicking with my biological clock. My body wants to be sleeping between midnight at 10 AM but that is almost impossible to pull off most of the time. But when I do that I sleep well all night. It's really frustrating to not be able to follow my body's rhythms these days. Dh just doesn't get it either.

i've been nightwaking, too. mostly i wake up to pee, then my mind starts going a mile a minute for an hour or more before i fall back to sleep. but lately i've found that if i can't get back to sleep in a reasonable amount of time in bed, i can almost always fall right to sleep on the sofa. i don't know if it's just the change of scenery or i'm more comfortable there or what. anyhoo.

yup... and i have realized that having ice cream right before bed *really* nails the coffin shut on sleeping

my best sleep is napping with dd in the middle of the day... often her best sleeping too, but also her most reluctant :

last week i slept really well...the last few days however, have been horrible. the time change doesn't help. no matter what we do, dd is totally thrown off her sleeping schedule when the clocks change! argh! she's been up at 5:30 the last two mornings (normally she sleeps til 7:30, so this is at least an hour earlier than normal...with the time change). and of course, she wakes up just when i've dozed back to sleep after being awake for hours. i don't remember it being so bad last time...maybe cuz i actually could sleep late when i wanted to.
