EPO "side effects"

Thread Starter
Is it possible that my prelabor "symptoms," i.e. intestinal cramping, loose stools (after 8 months of constipation), bouts of "regular" contractions, and so forth, are because of the evening primrose oil?

I'm taking 1000 mg in the a.m. and again at night orally. I know prostaglandins are probably causing what's going on, but is it b/c my body is gearing up or b/c I'm supplementing with EPO?

Any theories?

From what I have read you are supposed to take 500 mg three times a day the first week and then lower it to twice a day. So maybe you are getting 500 mg too much. Other than that I would just go with the flow and see where it takes you. It doesn't sound like any of the side effects are too bad. I am going to start on the 1st. Good luck!

My midwife said that EPO has no side effects and is a really good support to the hormones that trigger labor. But you do need to take it at the 500 mg dosage. I have two bottles, one 500mg and one 1300mg and she said to ingest the 500mg capsules and use the 1300 internally because more than 500 at a time is too much.
