non-stick cast iron

Thread Starter
Just a little tidbit my dh shared with me.
Put some soy lecithin mixed with cooking oil (eg. safflower) in a squeeze bottle (we use a honey container) to use when cooking sticky things (eggs, potatoes, etc.). We use about 2 tablespoons lecithin to 1 cup oil and cast iron frying pans are non stick! Easy to clean.
We are basically soy free, but this works so well and is only a little at a time; it's definitely a keeper.
Gotta love my cast iron (and enamelled cast iron).

liquid soy lecithin can be found or ordered from any healthfood store. Be sure to try this- it works better than nonstick pans!

I'm gonna have to try this too. I've been avoiding eggs just cause I dont want to clean the pan afterward! LOL
