Having a boy or girl more likely to have PPD??

I have been thinking about this since I had my ds. While pg with my dd I was not depressed until the last trimester then after her birth I got sever ppd I was at the point of wanting to die with it Lucky for me the meds did the trick and got me thru it.

During my pg with ds I had to go on meds at 9weeks pg because of pg depression(just like ppd only while pg) i stopped the meds in my 7th month because i read some disturbing things about the meds i was on complications that could happen if taken in the last tri. I did great tho. After ds was born about a week later I went back on meds for ppd again this time tho it was not allowed to get so bad. I was lucky enough that i only had to take then till he was about 3mo

Any way i was woundering if anyone else had something similar happen to them with their pg with a girl then with a boy. Just curious about it. I was thinking maybe it was so bad with dd cause of more female hormones and less so with ds because of the male hormones.

I don't know if there's a boy/girl difference or not. It seems like there could be!

I had PPD mildly after my DS was born. He was my first, unplanned (not unwanted though!). Then, when I was expecting my daughter I took supplements, did hypnotherapy, avoided my triggers, etc. I didn't have PPD with her. I don't know if I just had mild enough PPD that I was able to avoid it with taking those measures OR if it was a boy/girl difference.

I'm pregnant again with a : baby in December. And, I must admit, I've wondered that if it is a boy, how will that affect PPD.

Looking forward to reading this thread! Thank you for posting it.
