omg I can't keep up with you ladies! haha. I've been trying to reply since yesterday but everytime I start typing up more to my response, someone else posts. haha. I guess I shouldn't complain, since I have some friends who don't have anybody posting for their DC's birth month.

Speaking of, does anyone else sneak into the Nov/dec 2002 threads? I'm always doing it, curious to see where Kierra will be in a year. haha.

Thanks for all your input on the DVD! My brother told me to get A Bug's Life, but I'm glad I asked you guys. He's 16, so what does he know what a 2yr old would like. haha. So, Toy Story it is!

Liz, you said you bought Toy Story 2? Was that DVD, because I was told that Toy Story doesn't come out on DVD until the day after Christmas. Where in LA are you? I have a good friend in LA! She's way way way down in southern LA.

Christy, I haven't even heard of most of those birthday people you listed! Kiki is SO into Dora right now too. She does this hyper happy dance when I put Dora on and knows everyone if we ask where they are. She calls her "Dorrrr". haha.

Sherri, I saw your belly pic on LJ! You look lovely! I can't wait to see your little bean sprout IN those shorts!

Bec, would you have that baby already? The wait is killing me! When is Emily's birthday? Wouldn't it be neat if you had this one on her birthday? haha.

Tammi, it started snowing here last night too! Ugh. I don't like it! It means that even colder weather is on the way. I'm kinda surprised that it's staying, since last year Christmas day was the first time it snowed lots and stayed.

Kiki is downright refusing naps too. It's been going on for almost 6 months now. It really kills me. I NEED her to have that nap. haha. I get so jealous when people talk about their 3 year olds having naps. It's like my 1 year old wasn't even napping!

Does a body really know that it has twins in there? Or does it think it's just a big baby?

Oh, and Happy Thanksgiving to all the Americans It's just another boring Thursday here. Oh, and WHY is your Thanksgiving on a Thursday? I can't figure that one out. Why not on a Friday? Ours is on a Monday (so we get a 3 day weekend). So, does that mean that you get Thursday off work, go back for Friday, then get off the weekend again? That's just so weird to me.

I believe it has to do with a proclamation made by Abraham Lincoln (President of the US in the mid-1800s) that the 4th Thursday of November is a national day of giving thanks. So, we celebrate on that date.

Interestingly, most (but not all) employers give employees both Thursday and Friday off, so a four day weekend. This is good for retailers because that Friday is the BIGGEST shopping day of the year. It is so imfamous it is universally called Black Friday (putting retailers into the black -- accounting lingo). For example, my newspaper today had more sale circulars in it than I get on the typical Sunday. There are a zillion special 2-3 day only sales starting tomorrow. Stores open at the crack of dawn and have early bird specials, etc. It is seriously insane. I stay home and start my Christmas baking usually, except this year we're "doing" Thanksgiving on Friday, so I'll be cooking all day tomorrow instead.

Hope that helped a little!

Oh, a 4 day weekend? Now I want ours on a Thursday! hahaha. I understand a little more, but I still don't understand WHY he said every Thursday. haha.

We don't have black friday here, and I hear people mention it all the time. I heard it's only on electronics? I'm so jealous - I wish I lived closer to the border! I'm 2 hours away, but that's still far to my mother.

Happy Turkey day! I'm so full that I doubt that I will eat supper. We had turkey, cornbread dressing, homeade turkey gravy, Creamed spinach casserole, sweetpotatoes( that I made and they really sucked : ) salad, rolls, some weird congealed salad( can you tell I don't eat congealed salad?), pumpkin cake, creole cream cheese cheesecake, pecan pie, and egg nog.

So to say the least, I'm kinda full.

I live in Lafayette, which is in South Central Louisiana.

Thisis what we have. DH got it at Sam's Club right after we got married. I know he didn't pay that much for it because he is much too cheap- but I did notice that there is a TS and TS2 set listed at amazon too.

I never had employers that let me off on the Friday after Thanksgiving. And I'm talking about other than retail, like when I worked for a brokerage firm and as an office manager in a law firm. I stay the heck away from shopping on Black Friday. I try to have most of my shopping done before Thanksgiving anyway.

I gotta go. Happy Thanksgiving to all

it was a whopping 15 degrees here today! : this is the part of MI I live in, if anyone's interested...http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ad...w=1&name=&qty=
We're not "way up there" but we're far enough, lol.

DD is spending the night w/ her aunt and uncle 2 hours away!!! I still cant believe they talked us into that, lol. SIL wants us to "have a night to, ya know, do it, or whatever..." : she is so funny!!!

I kinda want to go out and shop tomorrow! : walmart is having a bunch of stuff on sale that we need, lol. I know I'm going to hate it and get aggravated, but the stuff wont be this cheap again. and actually, we have to find an optometrist tomorrow b/c DH's glasses broke, and he cant see past his nose...no joke!!! plus, he hasnt had his eyes examined for 5 years and I think he needs a stronger prescription anyway.

i better go for now, I hope everyone had a great turkey day...we're having another one tomorrow so that will be awesome!

It was -19 here today. Hey Christy, you're more north than I am, and I'm in Canada.

Wow, Liz, that's a lot of food! Now THAT is what I call a Thanksgiving dinner! Damn, you put ours to shame. haha. That is so weird how that is available on DVD yet it isnt for another month.

Ohh, I didn't know it was out on DVD before! So that explains it all to me. I thought it was only out on vhs before and that dec 26 was the first time it will be out on dvd. ahh okay, thanks for telling me that.

Ugh! Bite your tongue, woman! I would be 12 days late, if this baby was born on Emily's birthday! She was born on the 11th. I'm due on the 30th.

And you think the wait is killing you?! I'm going out of my mind, waiting!

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! While I don't want to do any shopping tomorrow, I'm hoping to be able to go for a pedicure! Give myself a little loving!

a pedicure sounds nice
Enjoy.
Hi ya, Bec

Labor vibes for you!

Bec - you know that there are pressure points in the feet that promote labor? Make sure they really rub you feet when you get that pedicure. I think there are some in the head too- get your DH to give you a good scalp massage too.

I'm settling in to watch LSU football this afternoon. And watch the Texas game at the same time.( UT is DH's alma mater) We have my DH's 25th yr high school reunion tonight. So I need to rest up. I am wiped out from yesterday and the day before. My lower abdomen is sooooo sore from the weight of my big ole tummy.

Y'all enjoy that cold weather while I sit in A/C in shorts and a t-shirt.

Liz, the thought had occurred to me!

hmm, so no luck with that thanksgiving day fantasy, bec? drat. hopefully this weekend!

my house is so trashed right now i can't believe we're hosting christmas day in a month. ugh! not to mention a new dvd just went on sale in the online store i do fulfillment for, i have 100+ dvds to get out -- so far -- in time for xmas, and they've been stuck in customs since last week sometime (coming from canada). not to mention i have 50 boxes of t-shirts and probably another 50 of CDs to move into a storage unit so we can actually use the other side of the garage again now that it's cold and snowy. and christmas shopping? haven't bought a thing yet. i am in so much trouble -- no idea how i'm going to get everything done and stay remotely sane.

jasper's latest trick is fake crying, tears and all. or i guess forced crying? whatever it is, it never fails to wake millie up and she starts crying right along. *really* fun in the car, let me tell you.

he's very fond of going around and pointing out things he knows he's not to touch, saying "no" and furrowing his brow into such a serious and concerned look. cracks me up. he's also started with what i'm guessing are sentences -- unfortunately usually only the first and last words are decipherable and the rest is still "jasperish". very cute.

i must admit i adore having a girl now. i've been on a soft sole a la robeez shoe buying spree for millie (just discovering some of the wahm-made ones on ebay). pretty soon her collection of footwear is going to overshadow mine! heck, it probably already does because i was buying girl stuff at garage sales this spring and summer even before i knew what i was having (had a feeling, though). i need to get organized and sell some of the old stuff we have laying around to help fund all these purchases! my half.com sales just ain't cutting it anymore.

well, back to making labels for mailing some of those DVD orders. i'm hoping that getting a head start will make things go a little faster once they finally arrive.
