This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Good news about the mucus plug, Dee! Maybe she's taking her time because your body is feeling the tension from all the family factors? My first was 6 days late, and I think it was in part because I was fixating on the due date from the beginning of her birth month! This time, I was really hoping the babe would come early (and still feel that it will), but part of me is hoping it will hold off. Like you, I have sick family members who are unable to help me out right now.

Hang in there!
I have heard that stress can cause babies to want to stay in a while longer. Losing the plug is a good sign for most - I'm routing for you! I lost mine more than 2 weeks ago, though - so either I've grown it back by now and will lose it again, or it doesn't necessarily mean labor is impending. Dunno. Everyone is different!
Sending birth vibes your way,
and hope for some rest from your stress!

I'm so sorry to hear about your stressful situation. My husband always tells me "Don't worry, everything will work itself out". I hate it when he says that, but eventually it does work out and then I know he was right from the beginning. I have childcare issues too, and no family nearby. I am just going to play it by ear, even if I have to call the neighbor in the middle of the night. I have made plans, but there is always the what if situation. Yay for losing your mucous plug though. I have been waiting and waiting. I too would like this babe to come early. Good luck!

dee,
its sounds like you are so close!! i would be frustrated too.. if you want you could come here and i could give you some acupressure that may help things get going.. but im sick and id hate to infect you
there are some really great acupressure points.. we were talking about them on another thread here.. maybe your partner could do some for you. if you are willing to risk my sickness.. then come over and we can knit and our kiddos can meet and we can complain about being way too pregnant ( although im begging baby to stay in another week now..)

shows the spleen (inner leg 4 finger widths above your ankle bone), stomach 36 (on outer legs below you knee..)and large intestine "Hoku" (on the hand between thumb and pointer finger) points.. they should help you along! and they are all easy enuff to do on yourself.. but it is better to get someone else to do them
i reccomend Hoku for you ..the hand points and the spleens point on your legs.. but you can try anything on those 2 pages!

I'm totally anxious about this baby coming but I don't have ANY signs of impending labour, so I'm actually envious of you.
And I can't even open the birth announcements right now.
