what to do w/ birthing ball - Page 2

Got a link for that site? I've been trying all sorts of positions and visualization; any more info would be great.

I also have a version scheduled for tomorrow; wish me luck. If that doesn't work I have the number of a local accupuncturist. Obviously if I can get her to turn (and stay!) on my own it would be wonderful.

How far along are you? I'm the Nov EC resident breech expert, it seems.

I have tried:
Webster (find a *good* chiro at www.icpa4kids.com)
Moxibustion
Laying on a slant board with ice at the fundus, heat/light/music down low
Swimming and forward flips in the water
Knee/Chest with rebozo work (2 MWs jiggling pelvis with rebozo)
Pulsatilla (200c every 3 days)

And finally a version. If you are not too far along, I would try everything else first and then the version, since it was quite painful.

As far as sitting on the ball, I think its ok, just avoid deep squats or anything that will prematurely force the baby into your pelvis, while you are still working on getting s/he turned.

FTR, nothing has worked for me, but I think I started a bit too late. I would start Webster at 30w (though I thought *was* doing Webster, but realized my original chiro was not doing it right) and the other stuff around 35w.

Good luck! I am finally at peace with the idea that my baby is not going to turn unless its on *her* terms, but seeing as she is settling her butt lower into my pelvis this week, there isn't much hope left of that. If you want to chat more, feel free to PM me. I understand the emotions you are feeling, since I was planning a HB as well.

I'm a little over 37 weeks. I would have liked to wait a little longer for the version, but today was the day I could get an appt with both my MW and the doc who she recommended as having the best success. If the version doesn't work, I'm calling the accupuncturist when I get home. Due to a move, I had to go over two months without a checkup, and while I wasn't worried because things were going fine, I didn't find out she was still breech until later than I would have liked. I haven't been great at figuring out her position the whole time, though I'm certainly paying more attention now!

I hate to say this outloud, but (shh!) I think she might have turned last night/this morning. I'm so paranoid now about being in any position that might turn her back. Plus, every time I've thought she was head-down she'd get the hiccups, which is the only way I can tell for sure where she is, and she'd be happily butt-down. I'm a huge procrastinator, so I'm going with the theory that she knew she had until this afternoon to get around to turning, so she put it off. Keep your fingers crossed that it's not just more wishful thinking.

I'm trying not to worry about it too much, though, because there might just be nothing I can do, and worrying right now just isn't a good idea.

BTW, babykaoss, sorry I hijacked your birthing ball thread.
