I think i might be in labor...

I had a contraction in my back and tummy at Wal Mart. I have not had one since- but my back aches. I am so nervous. Dh is sleeping... and I do not want to wake him up...

what to do... I did the dishes-and cleaned out the fridge... I hate to wake him- but I want to talk to him- and we need to do some other things- ds is taking a nap.

Since they are both sleeping, you should rest too while you can (if you can). If you can't, wake dh up!

I totally understand when dh is sleeping and you wouldn't want to wake him! I have been in that position. I am sure it will be fine to wake him. I agree id you can rest then rest b ut if not wake up dh and don't feel bad about ti. You are in this together remember. Good luck I will send some birthing vibes your way!!!

I've laid in bed thinking the same thoughts a few times that I've had some painful, regular contractions. To wake DP or not?? "I want his support, & if this is the real thing, I want his participation, but then again it might not be the real thing & I'd hate to bother him when he has to get up & work....".

I'd try hard to relax and/or sleep, or maybe distract myself by reading a book if I were you & wait to see if more cx come your way. Good luck & don't forget to keep us updated! You know there are some of us envious sorts out here living vicariously through those of you who are actually *having babies*!!!

It is 12:54 here. I don't know- I think I am wishing labor on... and it is not cooperating! I just had one a bit ago- so I went and got some stuff around. I should go to bed- but I just can't! I really would like to have her this weekend....

Best sleep: apparently there's nowt worse than having a baby when you oughta have a kip (at least, that's what my great-grandmother used to say. Rough translation from the Geordie: there's nothing worse than being in labour when you haven't had enough sleep.) Good luck! I go through contractions like that often lately... I dunno if it's real labor or not, doesn't really sound like it, sounds like that annoying prodomal labor. Try to take it easy and stay off your feet for a spell.

There is, it's just an invisible one.
Apparently, the British medical establishment doesn't believe in prodromal labour- therefore, I'm just imagining the frequent, regular, unproductive contractions I've been experiencing for the last 9 days. I can't WAIT until this baby comes, I go back to university, qualify as a midwife, work as an independent midwife and write a work on prodromal labour so authoritative that the NHS immediately diverts millions of pounds into making birth balls free on prescription to all pregnant women.
Looking on the bright side, I'm niggling (is this a word?) harder than I was this time last week, so at this rate my baby MIGHT be coming in 2005 rather than 2006. I'm kind of disappointed though, I was looking forward to another homebirth story

I am with you on feeling those contractions ALL DAY long and wondering what is up??? I haven't had any bloody show or anything though.

Maybe the babe is trying to be nice and prep ya for what's coming. Uhm, yeah, that is what I just keep telling myself so i don't think these are "just annoying" or "false" or whatever other word people may use to discount them.
