does anyone have any names picked out yet? - Page 3

Well, we've got it narrowed done to

Dacy Diane/Dyanni or Dawn Diane/Dyanni Dacy means from the south (which is where we live) and Dyanni is Native American for deer (according to google babynames).

for boy Dane Dwight. Dane means only God is my judge. I wanted Derroch, but dh doesn't really like it.

My kids names are Adam, Boyd, Cali so Dawn or Dane would fit. But, i like the geographical reference of Dacy. We'll see. This is the longest it's ever taken us to come up with names, and i keep a record of the opposite sex names.

Girls
Clementine Sophia Elizabeth
Inara Sophia Elizabeth

but i'll be sure to change my mind about a million times - i can't decide until i see what he/she looks like.

We have had a girls name since long before we had our first son, but three boys later we have yet to use it. Each one of our children has a Christian name and a family name. The Christian name is the first and the family name is the middle, except in the case of Kellen (he is named after my grandma and dh's grandma who were each named "Helen) whose family name fit him as a first name. Turns out it is a real name -- it is Celtic meaning "mighty warrior."

Each of these lovely boys would have been Harper Helene had they been a girl. The Helene was a combination of our Helen's and my other grandmother, Eileen. Thus, if we have a girl this time (which isn't going to happen) Helene won't be the middle name. I'm leaning toward Harper Catherine, but I'm not sure why. Boys names have always been hard for us, figures we would have three boys. I guess I have eight more months to come up with a good boy name.

I've got to confess, I'm really starting to like the name "Collette" for a girl.

Ds is named Ayden Glenn (Glenn is hubby's first name which is MIL maidan name)

If it is a girl we are going to name her Ava Emily (Emily after my grandmother)
If it is a boy we are going to name him ______ Fraser (Fraser is my mom's maidan name); but we have NO first name yet, I have to start looking!

All the names are soooo pretty and unique on here!

We haven't discussed it yet but for girls names I like Norah, Colleen, Scarlett, and Gina
boys..hmm..a little harder but I really like Jude, but I don't know about it going with our LN.

We are all celtic here. Both dc's have very irish names, so clearly this one must follow! They are also very uncommon, so I feel like this one needs to be as well. Unfortunately that's easier said than done. I love Niamh for a girl (Nee-ev) and Maeve as well. Dh likes Lachlann and Finnegan for a boy. No middle names yet. I can't ever do that without the first name. I do suspect that this will be a boy, so I've got to get myself in gear with boy names-girls are so much easier!

I have a Naiya. It means water nymph in Greek and she was my first waterbirth.

If it's a boy we will probably go with Zion, a girl we will probably choose Bennett.

Other names I like though - Jude (DH hates), Leighton, Saffron, Lotus, Aliyah.

With our dd, it was easy. We liked Emma and Grace, when she was born, she was a definate Emma. When I was pregnant with Emma, we decided that we really liked Seth Michael for a boy. So, when Seth was born, that was easy too.
This time though...ugh. I really like Samuel and dh doesn't so much. We both like Eli, but can't decide if he would be Elias or Elijah. For girls, we like Elizabeth (Libby) and Kathrine (Kate).
We'll see though...this baby may be born and none of those names fit him/her.

I would assume Dane meant from Denmark. I met a man named Dane who said his parents gave him that name because the Dane's response to Hitler's command that all the Jews wear Stars of David on their arm was that the king himself came forth the next day wearing one, and soon the rest of the country did as well. The Danes did do some fantastic passive resistance in WWII.

I've got a Harper...but he's a boy!

Collette is on my short list, not sure how dh feels about it exactly but I love it...a very classic name!

Every Collette I have known has been lovely.

For a girl we have Antoinette Marie/Toni Marie - my husbands middle name and my middle name

For a boy we have Reidar Patrick - my father's middle name and my fil's middle name

My first son is named Tanner Anthony - my maiden name and my husband's middle name

DH and I have no problems coming up with names for girls that we both like... (So far, we like Cora or Amaya.) But boys are alot harder! Every time I mention a name, he throws out one of those "I knew someone in high school named that and he was a real..." type of arguments.
"Riley" is the only name that hasn't provoked any horrible responses yet, so that's promising!
