I am going back over what I have done this past month preceeding the huge gains....and the things I have changed have been because of articles Jane has posted on this thread.
Here is a link to this articlehttp://www.megson.com/HYPOTHESIS/MED...S_ARTICLE.html
I have questions about this as I try to go back and figure out the gains with child #1. We have been giving child #1 CLO (cod liver oil) with his meals (he eats twice a day) for about four months. He is 152 lbs. This is 2500 iu's of vit A in the CLO he is recieving.
In the vit A protocol described here, they would be giving 7500 IU's of Vit A a day for a child over 125 lbs for two months then giving a perscription for Bethanecol, and report seeing dramatic results in eye contact with this protocol (we have seen dramatic results in eye contact). They also report dramatic increase in social interaction. (I got this info. on dosages from the pfeiffer institute vit a protocol handout)
I also noticed that Bethanecol is a choline (or urecholine-Whats the difference?). I did a google on urecholine and most of the articles cost money, but a lot of the research surrounded gut issues. We just started a month ago a supplement with phosphadatylcholine in it, and a few weeks ago NOW B-50 which according to Taber's medical dictionary, has the nutritional factor of choline in B-complex. B-50 contains 50mg of choline (choline bitartrate). B-50 contains B-6 as 50 mg Pyridoxine HCI. (I am rabbit trailing...but the pfeiffer protocol says to give P5P a better absorbed version of Pyridoxine.)
I was hypothosizing if we could be getting a vit A/choline effect with our new gains? Could taking a choline supplement induce the same effect as the Bethanecol? Are all cholines equal?
What about Cholines? I have read recently about pesticides blocking choline receptors. http://www.pww.org/past-weeks-1999/M...%20benefit.htm
This is significant to me because just over two months ago child #1 went to the emergency room after our neighbors sprayed chemlawn on a 50mph windy day, with child #1's window open, and the spray went directly onto him where he was sleeping in his bed by the open window. He was significantly worse and his physical symptoms went off the charts, and his behavioral symptoms went to worse than before we started this whole enzyme/gut prep/chelation journey eight months ago.
Mary Megson discussed a theory about autism being linked to a choline pathway being blocked. What do you think? a quote
|"Our early experience with treatment with natural cis forms of Vitamin A in Cod Liver Oil (CLO) in these autistic children, followed by stimulation of blocked acetylcholine receptors for neurotransmitters affected with a blockage of G-alpha pathways in the cell, is promising. There are dramatic, immediate improvements in language, vision, attention and social interaction in some of these children, as evidenced by the following case reports."
Well, I guess you could say dramatic improvements in social interaction would be the understatement of the year in our case...(YAY!!!)
She is saying that the Bethanecol, or urecholine, is used to stimulate blocked acetylcholine receptors...so it is really important for me to understand if you HAVE to have urecholine, or if just the phosphatidylcholine and B-50 I have been given, have stimulated a similar stimulation of blocked acetylcholine receptors, and this is why we are seeing gains.
Ok, I think I'd better take a break before my brain implodes. I'd love to hear your imput.
