anyone want to balance my serger for me?

It's driving me crazy!!!!

I just got it in August, and balanced it perfectly without any problems until today and then it turned on me.

The right thread broke, so I followed the instructions in the book, unthreaded both needles threads, and rethreaded it. Since then it's off balanced, and I can't for the life of me get it back to normal! You'd think it would use the same settings as it did before the break. I even had a friend come over to see if she could help. We threaded each one with a different color thread and she can't get it either.

I'm going to try again tonight after the kids go to bed and see if I can figure it out. Otherwise I'm going to bring it in to the dealer and see if they can help me.

that sounds super frustrating!

Hope it gets sorted soon. (I'm sure it's a really simple thing and it just needs a smack on the side to remind it who's boss, either that or stick your tongue out at it and see if it gets the idea )

Ugh! HATE trying to adjust the serger to get the stitch balanced!!! HATE it. Now I understant why folks spend that much on a higher end serger that does it automatically!!! someday...

I finally got it! And it only took me about three hours total. Darn thing!

The same thing happened to me, and I STILL haven't got the tensions right : . I have White 534 Superlock. I can't afford to buy a more expensive one right now. I bought a bunch of MaxiLock Swirls variegated thread to make my pwn prefolds, but I can't do that until I get these darn tensions right!

Well, whatever you do. write down the tension that worked!!! That way when you're sewing the same fabric/thickness next time, you'll know where to set the dials & won't spend all that time messing with them!

Every time I sit down to try to figure out the damned serger settings, I think ther has go to be a an easier way! Sewing machines are so advanced, but sergers are still in the stone age, unless you have thousands of dollars to spend on one! :

I made a little notebook to which I attached samples of the fabrics that I serged. It has the tensions written down with each sample.
