Any nursing mamas? - Page 2

Sebastian slept all night last night, no nursing until now - 6 am. (but I was up every hours anyway.....first pregnancy symptoms )
I did read that article long time ago and tried it but it never lasted long enough. He nightweaned several times but it would somehow always go back to nursing - teeth, cold or whatever the reason it was.
On the other hand, I am thinking that since I am up all the time at night, by now, I really am used to it, so it might also be an advantage for when the baby comes.

I'm nursing 25mo Noah and plan on continuing. He still nurses to sleep, awake and whenever the thought occurs to him!

My only concern is that I had a lot of m/s when pg with him... only gained 4# with the pg (although I'm over 200# so it wasn't a big concern). So I'm a little nervous about being able to sustain all 3 of us if it happens again.

We'll just have to see what happens!

My 2 1/2 year old is still happily nursing, but it's getting pretty uncomfortable for me. I have to think happy thoughts while she latches on to avoid making "ohmygodthathurtssomuch!" face. Hope this part passes soon--I don't think my little nursling is ready give up her "na" just yet!

Just got a + hpt test! I am nusing my 12 month old right now 3-4 times a day and around 10pm. He is a nurser by the clock, hid doing not mine, so I don't think he will stop, but will get really angry if the supply drops. I stopped taking fenugreek when ttc, but it didn't seem to drop supply to low, just the day after I work for about 6 hours with no nursing, but then it comes right back up! I want to hear sucess stories of how mamas have nursed with no supply issues all the way through pregnancy. I would really like to keep it up and tandem if he is so easy with his timing and schedule!

yep nursing my 23 month old. I tandem nursed my first two all way through and after my no 2 was born - now that was a nightmare! Everytime I sat down my 3 yr old wanted to nurse too............. oh well we'll see what happens this time.

oh btw - my nipples are SOOOO sore..........

the things we mothers do!

I night weaned dd but my milk supply went up because she has been wanting to nurse alot during the day to make up for it (which is fine, b/c it doesn't bother me as much during the day).

I will continue to nurse her until she decides to stop; but would be happy if she stopped before the baby comes. Not counting on it though!

Tracy, I feel the SAME way!!! Oh it hurts so much. I tell ds that milkers hurt and then he looks at me and says, side (meaning well, then let's switch sides Mom!) he's a little too smart for his own good sometimes!

I am still nursing my 21 month old on demand. She nurses ALOT and is cutting eye teeth right now... She isn't a night nurser though, usually sleeping straight through from sleeps from 8 to 11, nurses and back to sleep from 11 to 7 or so. But man does she nurse alot during the day. "deedee better!" she declares when I try to delay her nursing (as in deedee makes it better). I am not too concerned about nursing through the pregnancy but more worried about how she will handle sharing her deedees with the baby!

My little one is 2 yrs. and 6 months and I am very ready for him to wean. I have basically told him that my breasts are sleeping and when he asks to nurse I distract him with cups of water, milk, toys, reading to him, talking with him, etc... My breasts are way too sore to nurse him at this point and I think that at 2 and a half, he is okay.

I have a question, I am 5 weeks prego and one of my nipples has a long crease like open wound, I actually think I have two wounds, one is rather small.

I didn't mess with them, just put a little EBM on them and let them dry, but now after about 5 days, the wounds are bigger and MORE painful. I have to stop nursing on that side, but I am worried about mastisis, supply drop (I can't figure out how pumping won't hurt), and him self weaning. I am currently putting a little bit of polysporin on the wound every two hours or so, and I plan on nursing from one side for the next 24-48 hours. Should I pump and try to bare through the pain, or can I hand express and keep a supply that I can get back after no nursing for 28 hours from that one side?

Also does this have to do with being pregnant and supply dropping so he counteracts with superduper sucking?

I just don't want this to happen again!
