I have a definitely SPIRITED high need 2 1/2 year old who is absolutely terrified of a _hair_ or lint or something (not to mention live animals, but that's another issue), and I don't know how to deal with this. It's making me pretty crazy--she'll freeze in terror over lint/hair on the floor/toy/book and wail. She's highly articulate and can really verbalize her feelings. I know we're supposed to validate their fears, even if they seem ridiculous, but I have a really hard time being sympathetic.

Any ideas available?
