No Vax And Daycare?

I am returning to work in January nad hy unvaxed ds will be almost 8 months old. He will be spending his day with his auntie (and 5 other kids- all older) in her home daycare. I am a little concerned about sending him out into that situation unvaxed. The doctor wants to at least give him Prevnar. I don't want to give him anything! But I keep thinking- what if he gets a serious (life threatening) VPD from daycare?

Does anyone else have experience with this type of situation- an unvaxed child in daycare? Can you offer any advice/input? Please share your story- I need the support!

My daughter started daycare at 6 months old. That was the same month that she had her last vax. She's now 15 months old and hasn't brought home anything but the standard daycare sniffles and sneezes. But, for all I know, any of those sniffles or sneezes could have been a vaccine preventable disease that manifested itself in a mild way like they often do - not all cases of measles/mumps/whatever end in hospitalization and weeks of bedrest.

I feel that if she does get a "VPD" at daycare, her unvaxed body will be better equipped to fight the bug off because her immune system isn't farked to hell and back by vaccines.

i think his immune system would be in a much worse state after having any vax, and he would be more likely to catch something, than if he was unvaxxed.

personally I am way more afraid of vax reactions, then VPDs. I know how to handle the illnesses, but I wouldnt know where to start with a reaction. Especially since every medical person in sight would say "its just a coicidence"

My 3 vaxed kids were sick ALL the time especially as infants. Even though they were EBF. ear infections, bronchitis, RSV, tonsillitis, etc....
my unvaxed babe has had a cold, once.

Well, if you think the vaxes work, the other kids are most likely all vaxed, so wouldn't be able to give your child anything vax preventable... and if you don't think the vaxes work, why bother?

My now 8yr old was in daycare at 9mo's unvaxed (and was there for 5 yrs).

Yes, he came home with a bunch of childhood illnesses, and pink-eye etc but, the important thing is that all the other kids got it too.

So, in my opinion, ALL kids get ALL types of childhood diseases, it's up to you if you want to add all the extra (usless/harmful) chemicals from 'vaccines' into your childs body.

DD is 1. She goes to home daycare at my cousins house and is unvaxed. The only thing I had to do was get a doctors note. It may vary by state though.

My youngest child isn't vaxed. He's made it to 5 1/2 years old just fine without any major illnesses......and I have a daycare in MY home.

I'm sure that if you leave your house at all, your child has already been around vaccinated people...

I run a daycare in my home and do not vaccinate my 2 year old daughter

she is the healthiest kid in my daycare. All the other kids who are all vaccinated are sick all the time. When my daughter catches something, which is rare, its very mild and is gone in a day or two and it NEVER effects her much. Shes a healthy happy kid and I am proud to know that my NON vaccinated kid is fighting all this garbage away at the same time all these parents put me down about how stupid I am heheh

1) cleanilness. Is the house clean? Are the toys disinfected daily? If not, maybe offer to clean them yourself since this is your Aunt. If she seems lax about it. I'd rather spend 30 minutes cleaning a day than days with a sick child -- and cleaning will also reduce 'colds' and hence days off work for you. I'm not sure if I would stick to my vinegar and EO in this situation. I might resort to a commerical cleaner non-toxic for children.

2) I totally ignor new vaxes as a general rule. Prevnar is 'new' and the doctor did a scar tactic on me which did scar me, but didn't move me to vax. I look at it this way -- My parents, their parents never died of this bacteria strain, never even heard of it, I never died of a bacteria strain, my older kids never died from this bacteria or were even sick with it as far as I know. What is the likilhood that my child now will come in contact with this bacteria and die?

Each individual situation is different. I would have to think long and hard about putting my child in public daycare if that was the only option available. I'd much rather have them in a private home. However, in a daycare center they have rules they must adhere to with regards to cleanilness and in a home those rules can be relaxed making it a harbour for diseases not just vaccine preventables, but others as well.


Other information:
Bacteria are not irradicated by mass vaxing the population, they mutate to a stronger form and continue to survive. That is part of the problem with these bacteria that Prevnar and HIB vax for, they have mutated and the antibotics used to defeat them are now ineffective. Bacteria are resiliant creatures, no vaccine is going to prevent them from mutating again to be even stronger.

What I said to the doc threw her for a loop. I told her that if my child got this bacteria and died then that was God's will and I would have to accept that. I think she expected me to say "oh well if she could die then vax away."

My ds2 is 3 1/2 and in preschool unvaxed. I do not worry, but he is also 3 1/2, not 8 months. BFing is important to their immune system especially in daycare, so I hope you are still bfing.
