How much laundry do you do?

Not including diapers, how many loads per week do you do? And how big is your family?

I think our average is about 2-3 loads a week. M mostly does it, but I try to get some done...

We're only a family of two right now (not counting the dog and cat... who sometimes make messes we have to launder, actually). The little person in-utero at the moment doesn't make any launderable messes yet...

5-person family...and we do more than 7 a week!

Not including diapers, I do about 4-5 loads twice a week so 8-10 (this is GOOD! We were doing about 18 a week not including dipes!) This should go down even more in a couple of weeks when DH will have company cleaned uniforms.

I love to do the laundry...I know. I know I have some major issues. I think it is because I have an OCD with organization and when I do the laundry and sort out everyones clothes by colors in our closet things look better........I need a dr. We have 3 people, no diapers and we do about 5 loads a week, no idea why so much.. Any ideas on a laundry det for us...? My son has exzima and he is 4. I want a gentle detergent, but I want clean clotehs...any ideas mamas...Something I can afford.

1-2 loads of bath towells & bedding

1-2 of "whites" (I didn't count this because it said no "dipes" and we do cloth wipes which this is mostly).

I voted 3-5 because of the "no dipes" otherwise would have 5-7.

How the heck are we creating so much laundry at our house?!?! We are a family of 3 (plus 3 long haired cats & a furry dog) and on a good week I'd say we do 6 loads a week not including diapers or towels/ blankets. Usually its 3 loads of lights, 3 loads of darks, 1 load of towels/ sheets, 1 load of assorted blankets. Of course I have a messy eater toddler who goes through 2 outfits a day usually plus pjs and between the dog and our dd there is always something I'm using a cloth to wipe up My DH gets really dirty at work so he doesn't re-wear anything, and often changes when he gets home every evening. If I keep up on the laundry I actually enjoy doing it, but when I let the hamper pile up I dread it. We had been going to the laundromat for the last month because our dryer was broken, so it was nice to go there once or twice a week and come home with ALL of the laundry in the house clean and already folded in only a couple hours. It is alot easier to not have to drag my toddler their anymore now that the dryer is fixed though.

Seriously, I have no clue why we have so much more laundry than most!

Wow. And here I thought I did a lot of laundry. For a family of four with a baby & a toddler, I do about 4 loads a week, not including dipes, which I do every day & a half or so. We do cloth TP, but that gets thrown in with the dipes. I guess with dipes I do about 7-8 loads of laundry a week. It still seems like a lot. I don't wash our sheets every week. I do those about every other week. I try not to do laundry as much as possible, to be honest, but not because I don't like to, just because I want to conserve water as much as I can.

We're a family of 5 - no one in diapers any more - and I do at least 15 very full loads per week.

We are a family of 3 and I voted 2-4. But, we always do 4 plus 2 diaper loads. One of lights, one of darks, one of towels and some sheets, and one usually of whatever sheets didn't fit and light clothes that didn't fit. But, my husband sends his dress shirts and pants to the cleaner, so I probably should have voted higher, but I forgot until after I pushed the button.

Dh's work clothes are 2.5 loads a week (one week 2 next week 3)
sheets for one bed once a week ( 1 load)
lights -cloth napkins, wash cloths, t-shirts, gym clothes (1-2 loads)
darks - 1 load
towels -1 every other week, I do just a load of towels to prevent fuzzing and just do a load when all the towels are dirty

2 loads jeans

and then a load of diapers on top of that. I didn't think we did alot, and was just wondering how people are getting away with so LITTLE?

5-7 loads for a 4 person family. I aim for one load a day (not counting dipes). We have darks, whites, towels, sheets/bedding, and delicates.

I usally do about 2 loads a day and i would say that about 2 of them a week are diapers so that's 12 loads a week... usally broke down to...

2 loads of jeans
2 loads of darks
1 load of khakis (dh works in them)
1 load of colors
2 loads of whites (some times i'll through diapes in with them since i only cd at home part time w/ pf's)
2 loads of bed clothes or blankets
1 load of towles

I voted 5-7 but actually it's more. And we have a huge High Efficiency washer/dryer set. No diapers here. Just lots of clothing, towels, linens etc. Family of 4. :

Anyhoo, I do about 3 loads every 2-3 weeks, so average out to 1-1.5 loads a week.
