Kate - that same thing happened to me a few weeks back. I totally panicked, but movement has since picked up again. I think it's very normal to have periods of quiteness - especially this (relatively) early on. Nothing you mentioned sounds like you put your baby at risk to me - not even the 2 ice teas.
My episode of no movement occured just after I got overheated/dehydrated and almost passed out. The baby was all over the place just as that occured, then nothing for a week or two. It was very hard, but all is okay, as I'm sure it is with you.
And I hope you're dad's surgery went off without incident.
