1) How old is your newborn? 5 weeks

2) How is your nursing/FFing going? very well I think, sh eis gaining well and happy (think milk coma) after feedings!!

3) What's your new one's sleep schedule (or lack of) like? she cluster feeds in the evening, which can be hectic, but sleeps 3-4 hour stretches at night

4) How's the adjustment been for the family? Your DH? DH hasn't really DONE much by way of care because I am BFing. I think he's changed ONE diaper so far. He does like to cuddle with her though. The kids are all doing well and love their new baby

5) How are you doing physically? Mentally/emotionally? I am actually an wreck. Emotionally, I'm just feeling drained and overwhelmed, mostly because of my PHYSICAL symptoms. DH was flat on his back all last week and so I essentially had 6 kids and NO husband. I have a cold which may now be the flu and I'm not sure if I have mastitis or not..plus my PP bleeding picked up heavily in the last 3-4 days after starting Micronor, so I don't know what's up. I'm waiting for the nurse to call me back. I also have Crohn's disease and am nervous that being this run-down, it will flare up.

6) Any major issues/concerns/challenges? see above

1) How old is your newborn? 2 weeks old today!

2) How is your nursing/FFing going? Perfectly well.

3) What's your new one's sleep schedule (or lack of) like? She sleeps a ton, so much it was worrying me. She's awake a lot more now, but still "sleeps through the night" besides waking to nurse.

4) How's the adjustment been for the family? Your DH? It's been a pretty big adjustment but not a hard one. Her sister loves her a lot, and DH has been giving #1 a ton of attention, taking her places, etc.

5) How are you doing physically? Mentally/emotionally? I'm doing great physically. Emotionally, kinda depends when you catch me. Some hours I don't know if I can handle two for another minute, it's so overwhelming, especially when they both need me at the same time. But I think overall things are going well.

6) Any major issues/concerns/challenges? Just getting used to two. It's hard being an AP mama and having to tell your toddler to wait a minute all the time. I don't know how anyone handles 3 or more, yikes!

Just lurking I like to hear from you PP mamas!

Sorry things are tough right now, Krista. Hope dh gets better soon and more able to help out and hope this stress does not cause a crohn's flare up for you

) How old is your newborn? 18 days

2) How is your nursing/FFing going? really well, he loveeeees to nurse

3) What's your new one's sleep schedule (or lack of) like? awake more now...wakes every 1.5-2.5 hours during the night even after cluster feeding all evening. I have a very heavy letdown so he's pretty gassy, sorta spitty/reflux-y but no where near as bad as DS1

4) How's the adjustment been for the family? Your DH? AWESOME

5) How are you doing physically? Mentally/emotionally? nOW THAT HEMORRHOIDS ARE GONE and DD's sinus infx cleared i FEEL FANTASTIC but want these extra 16 lbs off NOW!!!!!!!

6) Any major issues/concerns/challenges? feel frumpy but other than that can't complain....doing it all solo (dh works a lot) and managing thus far

1) How old is your newborn?
Two weeks old today!

2) How is your nursing/FFing going?
Much better now. I have TONS of milk, and did some nipple damage trying to get a little mouth latched on to my enormous engorged breast in the first week, and have spent the week healing. Things are going much better- I had great advice and support from my husband and midwives to get things on track. Neela was re-weighed today...she was 6lb 14 oz at birth, 6 lb 12oz at one week, and is 7lb 14 1/2oz today!!!

3) What's your new one's sleep schedule (or lack of) like?
Generally she cluster feeds in the morning, feeds every few hours and sleeps in between during the day, then clusters again around "bedtime"- usually tons of feeding between 9pm and 1am or so... then sleeps pretty well with only one more feed during the night at about 4 or 5, waking to cluster feed again around 8 am. We call it "tanking up"- the hours of feeding around midnight are exhausting at times, but totally worth the payoff of a good night sleep.

4) How's the adjustment been for the family? Your DH?
Smoother than I expected all around. My husband has been amazingly supportive through the labour, birth and baby care. He gives Neela lots of attention, and is really good at changing diapers, cuddling and entertaining Neela while I look after myself. In the mornings I try to get up before her first feed to have a bath or shower and some "me" time (like 5 or 10 minutes), and she cuddles in the bed with my husband. Usually by the time I'm finished, she's awake, changed and ready for me to feed. I feel amazingly supported

5) How are you doing physically? Mentally/emotionally?
My sore nipples are on the mend. I have a couple of labial (ouch) stitches from Neela's hand presenting up beside her head- they were pretty tender for the first week, but doing much better now. I can't believe how quickly my belly disappeared- I had to dig out my old jeans this week. Emotionally things are going well, too. I haven't cried in over a week, and I'm feeling much better now that feeding is going well.

6) Any major issues/concerns/challenges?
Not really- still totally adjusting to life with a newborn. My sister is here helping out for a few days since my husband went back to work yesterday, and it's great to have help around. I'm still strategizing about how to accomplish things (like taking Neela out) for when I'm on my own without an extra set of hands...

7) Post a pic!
Finally I have some loaded- a couple from her first day (and her first bath), plus her first trip to the park on a sunny day (yes, there is a baby in that pile of fleece)

How old is your newborn?
Gretel is 1 1/2 weeks old.

How is your nursing going?
Great - at her five day check-up she was already up from her birth weight of 9 lbs, to 9 lbs. 4 oz! She really loves to nurse. The only bad thing is that she has a little monster style of chomping down a few times when she first latches on that I haven't been able to get her to stop yet - it hurts!

What's your new one's sleep schedule (or lack of) like?
Pretty unpredictable still. Most nights she nurses every 1-3 hrs. and falls right back to sleep each time, but other nights she is fussy and seems to wake up constantly.

How's the adjustment been for the family? Your DH?
Pretty smooth. The house is a little messier and the kids may feel a bit neglected at times, but I think we're getting into some semblance of routine or comfort pretty quickly.

How are you doing physically? Mentally/emotionally?
Physically I'm great. I had horrible afterpains, but they only lasted about 3 days and were gone. My milk came in gradually instead of waking up with rock hard breasts one morning. My bleeding is light. My spider and varicose veins have disappeared already! I'm actually amazed at how quickly my body is recovering after a fourth child! Emotionally is harder. It's not at all a good time for us financially, so there is a lot of stress right now, but most of the time I'm happy - and am of course loving this new babe.

Any major issues/concerns/challenges?
Gretel often gets colicky at night around the kids bedtime, so that's been tough. Other than that she is an "easy" baby - very cuddly and consolable and sweet and lovely. She's been laughing in her sleep and I just can't wait!
