the other night my son spilled some chocolate rice dream on his brand new (really becoming) white shirt.. i soaked it overnight and then washed it, but the stain didn't come out..

is there any way to save it without soaking the whole thing in rice dream?

I'm not sure about stuff that you might have around the house, but I just started using oxyclean and it has worked great on stains.

case in point-2 days ago I was coloring my hair with semipermanant hair color (dark brown) and got some on the sink, 10 minutes later my mom leaned against it with light pants on and got a quarter size stain on her pantleg. followed the directions, rubbed with a sponge and it came out. we were all stunned.

good luck.

Chlorox also makes something like the Oxyclean. I have used the oxyclean and find it doesn't always work....so I hope it does for you.I am bad at treating them and throwing them into the wash...
Another good soap and sometimes it takes a few times is a bar soap called "Fels-Naptha". It should be in the laundry area at our grocery store. It is small and easily missed. My dh's grandma told me about it and she uses it to get grease out of stuff...LOL
Hope you can get it clean.
