C/S question - pains?

My youngest was my only c/s. I have been having a lot more round ligament type pains this time around. Is it just because I am perpetually pregnant or is that a side effect from c/s? I wondered if it could be adhesions (I've had 8 abdominal surgeries). Anyway, it stinks. Any other c/s mommies experiencing this?

I have no idea. But I have stretching pains every now and then and it just feels like I am growing and everything needs to shift and adjust. I had a c/s with my first but I have never felt anything like adhesions (would only be able to guess). Hope someone else has a better answer.

OH YES!!! Sometimes I will be doing something, shopping or whatever and I get those pains. Sometimes I get like a burning fire pain right accross my scar (but from the inside). I just chalk it up to scar tissur stretching.

I've had some ligament pain when I cough on the side.

I think adhesion pain is common, esp with multiple surgeries. My mom had it for years after 2 c/s

I have never had trouble with adhesions, but I think that what you're talking about is very common-- I would definately ask on the c-secion support thread.

pfamilygal - I had a c/s (will be about 3 years when this baby is due). I have been having a combination of round ligament pains and what my doc thinks is stretching of the uterine scar. I can tell you it hurts like h**l and I couldn't even stand up straight on Tuesday morning. Just to see if we're on the same page, can you describe your symptoms/feelings? I know it's kind of hard to describe, but I'm curious to find out if this is, in fact, what these pains are......

It hurts like right at the bottom of my abdomen, kind of around and on top of my scar. Especially when I stand up or move quickly. In the past, with my other 3 kids, I've had round ligament pain that was more on on one side or the other, but never right in the middle.

I was wondering if one of those supports belts would help. I work as an ER nurse and after 13 hrs on my feet it just about makes me cry. It almost feels like it did when I needed to take a poo or cough when the scar was healing. A sharpish pain across the lower abdomen.

pfamilygal I get that same feeling all the time. I have had 2 c-secions and I did not have it with my last pregnancy no where near as much as I have been this time. My dr. seems to think its just normal stretching, but it makes me nervous that its always right at my scar.

Found something that helped! I bought one of those elastic support belts at Motherhood and it really seemed to help support the scar. Much less burning. Much better day.

Hey, that's good to know. I'll have to go pull mine out and try it. Thanks for the suggestion!!
