Share your routine!!

My mom came down for the baby shower and we cleaned the whole house. It looks so beautiful!! I would like to keep it this way. I've found that the best way is to get a routine. Someone told me about FlyLady, so I adapted that, and some of the SHE stuff, and have made a little schedule/routine thing for myself. It never really occoured to me before this, though it's so easy that I can't see how I didn't think of it before.

I was wondering how other people get themselves into it. It's been tough for me to actually get up and get started, but once I'm dong it, it's not too bad.

1.Start with the dishes
2.Move to the kitchen in general, picking up all the trash
3.Get trash ready for SO to take out
4.Repeat in Living room, Dining room
5.Put in a load of laundry
6.Fold the load in the dryer
7.Unload the dishwasher

It takes about an hour to and hour and a half, just depending on how quickly I do it, and if I have help. Then I nap.

: I can't wait to hear what you guys do!

Kitchen
Bathrooms
Dusting
Floors

If I have laundry I put a load in first. I do the kitchen and baths first because then if I poop out during the cleaning I haven't been just dusting and had to stop before getting to the real cleaning. I start every room starting on my right side and go top to bottom and work my way around counter clock wise. that way I know every thing behind me is done instead of working a bit on the dishes, cleaning the counter, then wondering where I stopped, or cleaning the toilet and the mirror and then wondering if I already did the shower. Floors are always last because when I dust or clean counters I wipe everything to the floor. There is a book that is wonderful called something like "Speed Cleaning". I can cruise doing the top to bottom counter clockwise thing.

the way i clean.... which i like to think is pretty tidy considering i have 3 kids running around and a dh that isn't the tidiest person by any means... so lets say i have 4 kids, and i also have 2 dogs that live inside 90% of the time and 1 outside.... ANYWAYS! LOL

I do one room at a time and DO NOT leave the room until it is completley done that way i can see what is done at the end of the day... i usally try for 1 full room a day some times i do no rooms so times i do get 2 done a day, i live in a trailer so not tons to clean, livingroom, kitchen, 2 kids rooms, me and dh's room, 1 bathroom (we have another bathroom but only use it for storage and to keep the dogs in when we have company over or when we are gone, so i only clean it about 1-2 times a month and most of the time dh cleans it b/c they are "his dogs").

So like today i did a TON, dh put a new sink in the kitchen last night, he did all the work but i did all the clean up under the sink (he had to cut the whole bigger for a larger sick) so it was a BIG mess, then i had to razor blade the edging from the cocking, ect. i swept and moped the floor, i dusted everthing off, I gathered all the trash... then when i was done, i started up the laundry, i did 3 loads today. I also rearanged my living room, moving my computer/desk, my couch, and one recliner. this wasnt't he hard part the hard part was that i had aculated pills of stuff here and there behind stuff, so i decluttered my living room, i think i will try to rearange my livingroom about everytother month so keep clutter down... I also do the same thing in my kidsrooms, and my bedroom just rearanging keeps you from cluttering up hiding spots...
have you ever tried fly lady, some love her and live by it, some hate it and don't work for them at all, it got me started in a good reutine, ect but i like my way now, it just helped set me on track....

I read some of the FlyLady stuff, never got on the mailing list, though.

It just inspired me to get into a routine. Well, I'm keeping up with it now. 5 days straight, and I don't see me stopping. I try to do a bigger cleaning project every few days.. Like dusting the entertainment center, scrubbing the shower, cleaning the ceiling fans, stuff like that. There's only 2 of us right now, so it's not bad. Nothing major to clean up after..

I'm just trying to get ready for the baby. I'll try the top to bottom counter clockwise thing. That sounds good!
