Birdseye Question??

Okay I finally got all my fabric in the mail, to make my first AIO!!! Going over the diaper pattern though I realised that the birdseye is what is going to be touching the baby's bottom. Is this correct? If all the layers are birdeye, minus the outer layer, which I have MM Fleece for, is it not going to be super wet on my baby as soon as there is pee??? Should I be using another type of layer for the inner layer? I don't think I can use the fleece as an inner layer, especially if it's meant for an outer without PUL(speaking of that MM fleece doesn't need a layer of pul, correct??)!!! Am I over reacting?? Do cloth diapers just get super wet with every pee, or does the wetness get absorbed in?? UGH!!!!! Sorry I'm going on here but I need help!!!

TIA!!!

It's a matter of personal preference, I think. Some people don't want their babies to feel wetness. Some people DO want their babies to feel wetness (so they're aware they that have wet, possibly making potty training easier later on). Also, some babies get really upset when they feel wetness, and some babies could care less. My DS is in the "could care less" crowd. He sits in a prefold with no lining and has no problem with it being wet. I even use prefolds at night, again with no lining, and he goes 12+ hours in that diaper. Since he doesn't get rashy from this, I don't worry about it. It's wet against their skin, but not sopping wet - just damp. The wetness gets absorbed by the fabric, but the fabric on the very inside is still damp enough to feel. Make sense?

If you want a wicking layer so your baby doesn't feel wetness, you can use microfleece or suedecloth. You can get microfleece at Joann's and Hancock's. You can get suedecloth (much cheaper) at Joann's and Walmart... possibly at Hancock's too, but either they didn't have it at mine or it was more expensive than the stuff at Walmart. You want 100% polyester "Alova Suede". It's $2.67/yd at Walmart.

Birdseye is what alot of prefolds are made of so it will be like having your baby in a prefold with a cover. Something my baby doesn't mind at all. MM fleece with a 200 weight or higher (or windpro) is supposed to be wetproof. Ipersonally think that 200 weight needs 2 layers to make it as wet proof as i want (I even double up lightweight windpro, which then makes a completely waterproof cover), but it is a personl preference thing. From what I've heard lots of people just use one layer of 200 weight and love it. Good luck on your AIO.
