I was raised in a suburb in Connecticut. The best thing about it was I felt pretty safe there.

I like lots of stuff! Indie, punk, blues, etc.

My family.

4. what do you like to sing in the shower?
I don't sing in the shower. I don't like showers...I try to get in and out as fast as possible.

3 dogs, all adopted mixes. Bay and Banjo are the males, and Isis is our girl.

6. if money weren't an issue, what would you spend your life doing?
Not worrying about money!!!

7. if you had to choose to lose one of the five senses, which would it be and why?
I'll think about this and come back if I can come up with an answer.

8. what is your favorite thing about being pregnant?
Just knowing there is a baby growing in there does it for me.

9. what is your least favorite thing about being pregnant?
Gas, bloating, occasional insomnia, weird cravings

10. are you feeling the baby move yet?
I *think* so...I'm not positive, but am pretty sure I've been feeling him/her this past week.

Not in your due date club (saw this thread under "new posts") but just have to say two things!

One, SOOOO great to see Adina in a due date club!!!! I feel like I've been following your saga for ages and it just makes me smile to see your name here!

Two, whenever I see these "getting to know you" type things, I always get on my soap box and ask people to print their answers and start a binder. Something about YOU for your kids to read someday. My parents died when I was in junior high. I would cut off my hand to know what my mom's favorite thing about pregnancy was, or memories of her hometown, or anything from/about her. I know the basics - siblings, religion, etc. - but not the little things that would mean a lot to me to know. She made me a baby book; I know when I got my first tooth and when I rolled over. I want more about HER.

I started doing this in early 2003 and have a 3 ring binder FULL of these. My favorite class in school and why. Best thing about each of the loves of my life. Favorite type of ice cream. Favorite movie, book, song, etc. I put in our Xmas letters each year. Sometimes I print off interesting emails to or from us, if they describe something I think the kids would like to know someday. Sometimes just a day in the life glimpse.

I was raised pretty much all over the place, but from 11 on it was mostly in Mesa, Arizona (with a few moves away and back between)... Oh gosh... Probably the mild weather in the winter but where snow is just a few hours drive away and I can let someone else shovel the snow!! LOL

2. what is your favorite type of music/artists/bands etc?
Oh I like anything but rap! I have a whole variety in my 10 disk CD changer from country, to kids music, to jazz, to Mozart and about everything in between! LOL

3. what is one of your life's passions?
Trying to become the best mom I can be!!

4. what do you like to sing in the shower?
I don't! I am usually trying to get in and out as fast as I can! LOL

5. do you have pets, names/kinds?
2 Golden Retrievers, Teddy Bear and Buddy, who are 7, a 'mutt' cat, Shadow, who is 19 (almost 20!!), and a Betta fish, Maui (who knows how old a fish is, but we have had him for a year! LOL)

6. if money weren't an issue, what would you spend your life doing?
What I am doing - being a SAHM but traveling more and being able to buy more craft supplies! LOL

7. if you had to choose to lose one of the five senses, which would it be and why?

Oh gosh! Do NOT make me choose one of these! I agree with Phoebe! PLEASE take my toes or my hair! I can always buy a wig! LOL

8. what is your favorite thing about being pregnant?
Feeling my baby move!

9. what is your least favorite thing about being pregnant?
BEING SICK!!! (And I gotta say the needles, too! LOL)

Yep! In fact, the little on is be-boppin' right now all over the place! LOL I SWEAR this kid thinks my insides are a pinball game and he/she is the ball!!

I was raised in San Jose, CA. I love the wonderful ethnic foods (especially Asian & Mexican) available everywhere, and the weather (oops, that's two!)

80s, New Age Celtic (Enya, Loreena Mckennitt), 'Boys groups' like Dire Straits, Queen, Genesis... and classical brass music

3. what is one of your life's passions?

At the moment it's being the best mommy I can be to my 2,5 yo dd. I am also very concerned about the environment and consumer food safety

4. what do you like to sing in the shower?

80s love ballads (Cyndi Lauper, Bette Midler...) because they sound so good with the water running

I have one black Heinz 57 (completely mixed breed) cat named Pouncer who has lived with my parents for the past 11 years.

Travel, eat out in many ethnic restaurants, meet people from all over the world, read historical crime novels

I am undecided. I want/need all my senses...

Being able to eat and eat and eat - and my doctor telling me 'Bravo' that I've gained weight!
Also the anticipation of how the baby will be, what he/she will look like, personality, etc.

South of Buffalo, NY. The main place was near Springville where we had a lot of forest behind the house. I think that was the best part. I took regular walks there for my entire growing up (first it was a weekend home for my grandparents and then we moved in later). I really developed a connection and love of nature that has enriched my entire life.

2. what is your favorite type of music/artists/bands etc?

Well, I'm really a mixture. I listen to devotional bhajans, grateful dead, I like Sting, Ella Fitzgerald, classical, Christmas music, various kid's music, Afro-latin, Joanne Shenandoah, etc. I don't really like rap, country, radio, I don't hear any new top 40 or anything like that.

Hmm, well I can't remember singing in there lately, but some of my favorites is the Rose and Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes

Yep, we might be the record here. We have 7 cats (one had 5 kittens), 1 dog named Parvati, Suka- a Blue and Gold Macaw, Guinea Girl- a free range guinea hen, Pan and Bharat- angora goats, and Mata, Padma, Nalakuvera and Manigriva (Nala and Mani)- Leicester Longwool sheep, an underwater snail and currently 3 fish.

6. if money weren't an issue, what would you spend your life doing?

Walking my spiritual path and continuing my creative persuits (which includes children). That is what I do anyways thanks to a good husband. I would see more of him if money wasn't an issue, though :~)

Strange question. Maybe I'll just sound crazy and say all of them and become fully absorbed in the inner spiritual reality.

The sacred privledge to be the vessel and vehicle for another soul to enter this reality in a physical body.

Having to get up to pee in the middle of the night, various pains.

I grew up in New Brunswick Canada. I still live in the same city, have never moved. The best part about living where I live is we get all four seasons and they are totally different from one another. In summer it can get extremely hot, in fall we get the changing of the leaves, winter we get cold and alot of snow and spring we get showers and flowers

I love most music. Right now I'm totally into Christmas music!! Can't get enough of that, I love Christmas

Reading. I think it is such an important thing and I upsets me that there are actually people out there that can't read. I used to tutor adults to teach them to read (I'll get back into that after my children are grown) and I taught my dd to read when she was 4 just before school because I was terrified she would not "get it" when she was there

Hmm...not much

We have fish, I can't even tell you their names the kids named them! We used to have two cats but my ds has asthma so we gave them away 2 years ago.

Bay Area, CA. I love the diversity of the people, access to diff. cultures, theatre, and the weather is pretty awesome too.

2. what is your favorite type of music/artists/bands etc?
Well, as a child of the 80's I think I'll forever be stuck there musically. Duran Duran has been and will always be my favorite band. I still plan to marry Nick Rhodes when I grow up. Other than that, I really love Frente! although they don't exist anymore, and tend to like folky-girl-fronted bands and things that are very singable-to.

3. what is one of your life's passions?
Childbirth hands down.

I pretty much never sing in the shower.
