least to most sustainable/local/healthy

hello!

i am starting a little project for myself to create a list for people I meet re: sustainability and relocalization and health. i am looking for lists that go from least sustainable/local/healthy to most sustainable/local/healthy re: different subjects. Some of those subjects might include: menstruation, child birth, food, transportation, energy, gifts, entertainment, music, school, etc. The lists - I hope - will be helpful for people to realize that they are somewhere on the continuum and that they can take another step towards sus/loc/healthy without having to be perfect in every way. I am just looking for ideas here. For example, about menstruation:

tampons
pads
organic tampons/pads
keeper
cloth pads
make your own cloth pads
what else?

If your'e interested, list some of your ideas, please!

thanks!

p.s. i also posted this in "talking amongst ourselves", but then I realized this might be a more appropriate forum?! i hope it's okay that i posted it twice.

Great idea! The thing is, it's often hard to judge. It may be more ecologically sound for an individual to fly across the country than to drive, but better for a family of 4 to drive one car. I disagree with the order you listed in your example; I feel tampons are "better" than disposable pads, and that menstrual cups are "better" than cloth because feel they'd require less lifetime water/ soap consumption.
