Here's the official birth announcement- I hope this link works:

Well, I was in labor all right! I'm writing the birth story in my head and will send more details later, but at 10am I wasn't sure if I was in labor, talked to a few friends on the phone, emailed a few people to let them know something might be up, and I had him by noon. The midwife wasn't even here yet and Matt delivered him (she walked in about 2 mins. later!) It was a lot more painful than last time but short, thank goodness!! I'm glad we were planning a homebirth b/c there was no way this could have been anything other than that!
He was 7# 9oz- two whole pounds heavier than Ethan- and yes, it sure felt like it coming out! I'm really sore and not as able to be up and around like I was last time. I only have a small tear.
He started nursing very soon after birth and has been nursing a lot ever since- I cried when he latched on for the first time- I so hope he will be my good nurser. Just the fact that he is bigger and more fully cooked I think will make a huge difference.
It's been really crazy and tough so far with a 3 yo and the baby- poor dh is taking care of him, me, the baby, the house, making calls, etc- he is just running himself ragged, in addition to mentally processing the fact that he just delivered his son and it was kind of scary for him b/c the cord was around the neck. I feel bad that I can't do more to help but I honestly can't move around much or deal with toddler tantrums.
Anyway, we're in love
and sooooo thankful that it was a quick delivery and everything is ok!! He does have some kind of swollen lymph nodes at his armpit that I hope are not anything serious- we're going to the ped Monday and she didn't think it sounded like a big deal, but of course I worry.
Love to all you mamas
