We're home! Noelle (Elly) was born at 11:25am on Friday, 11/18 via Cesarean. Everything went very well with the surgery, no complications, no problems. Elly was a *tiny* 7lbs, 7oz, compared to my 9+lb Ben! I still cant get over how tiny she is. She was 20.5in long at birth.
The doc could not see any reason for why she was breech and even said sadly that it was too bad I didnt go into labor, because it probably would have been a great breech delivery. He did mention several times how I would have a great VBAC next time.
WE got out in 2 days, after lots of advocting for that. Pretty much everyone within earshot knew I wanted to be released early.
She is an awesome nurser! Although you would think that colostrum was some sort of defect, according to the idiots at the hospital who were so freaked about her loosing 10% of her body weight. Ugh. I agreed to use a SNS once we were home (a lie) and had to give her a bit of formula to learn how to use it, but other than that, she is nursing constantly and loving it. Wonderful latch, so relaxed and happy. I am quite excited to be a nursing mama again.
I am feeling much better. That first walk to the bathroom was like a death march. But each time it gets better. I dont understand people who *choose* to deliver this way, though. DH will be working hard over the next couple of weeks while I recover.
One interesting difference, was that when Ben was born vaginally, there was such a rush of emotions and hormones when I saw him, I was crying like crazy. When I saw her, it was like "oh, there's my baby." I am sure it has to do with the lack of labor hormones, etc. But after 2 days of nursing her, I feel sufficiently bonded to her.
Its just interesting that it took a bit more "work" this time.
I will post some pics later. I just had a few mins while she was nursing in the sling and DH took DS to the store (to get my pain meds!).
Now I get to go catch up and see who had babies while I was trapped in the hospital all weekend!

I've had a stonkingly awful day, and I needed some good news- and she sounds lovely! I'm glad you're both home safe and well, and you're starting to recover- but now, you need to change your signature!!!

I know you were so stressed about your baby being breech, I'm sorry you weren't able to get her to turn & ended up with the pain of a c/s, but all in all you did an awesome job!! I can't wait to see pictures of little miss Noelle.
Bask in your babymoon.
