yes, 60 bucks a box (ouch), lowe's, & we are in the process right now (i wouldn't recommend starting with a kitchen- didn't know we had to glue even the glueless kind for that.) but oh, it is so *quiet*.
it's kronotex: http://www.kronotexusa.com/flooring-...orNumber=D1277
in a room other than a kitchen it would be beyond easy. (i highly suggest grabbing a small workbench at target for twenty bucks & a cheap skillsaw if you don't have one. we got a table scroll saw too, but that's because we have floor vents to cut around, & my dh wanted one anyway
.)

We got ours from Costco, it was I think 22 dollars a box (don't hold me to that). Anyway not expensive at all, we installed it in the "office" we did it almost a year ago and it's holding up really well. I think it looks really nice. It's easy to clean and dh and I were able to install it in a weekend, with out two little helpers
I think if I were to do a more visiable or high traffic area I'd do solid hardwood, but for us and the office it was great. Oh and I have 2 friends that have nearly whole houses of laminate and it's hold up fine with their kids and dogs.

I helped install a clicklock floor from Lowes at the coop studio gallery that I belong to... It will be nice there, but it does not look quite like real wood. We installed recycled hardwood in our kitchen, so now our house is all wood except the bathroom. Clicklock was by far easier. Thought I should mention that Ikea has some economical flooring solutions...http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/store...017_irwtree003

We put them in in our bedroom. Got it for about $1 a sq ft. (a good deal) I like it okay. It was easy. It was cheap. If I had $$ I would get nice wood and have someone else install it... but that's not happening anytime soon
That said- it was important for me to get one with a wood-texture. It looks a LOT less fake. And be aware that it can be VERY slippery... no walking in socks for kiddos.

I'm probably slaughtering the terminology, but I hope I make sense. We got a 'plank' look vs the three strips on a panel. Sfter a few years the panels can start to stand out and it can look fake. You can get some brands in strips separate rather than three on a panel, it would just take longer to install. Dp and I put it in our kitchen, dining/living room and family room. I put down the blue sheeting and sorted the pieces (you need to make sure that you don't have two of the same next to eachother) and he tapped them into place and cut the ends so they can stagger. It was the truely snap and lock, no glue. Nice and simple. Our kitchen is even kind of triangular shaped and I don't recall hearing too many swear words from dp, lol.
I'd suggest going to a place that specifically carries flooring and talk to the salesperson, if you're honest about your budget, they should be able to help you figure out what is best.

I have it in my dining room. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue how much it cost, sorry.
But I can tell you that my inlaws have their whole first floor done with it for well over a year and it looks brand new.
Mine's been done for about a year and also looks brand new.
Installation is super duper easy.

Dh saw some at Home Depot yesterday for $1.69 per square foot. We have some in one living room and love it. I think it's the cheap stuff too but it does have some real wood texture to it.
