trying *not* to get my hopes up

But I've got a little bloody discharge. I think everyone else thinks tonight is the night, but I'm not sure.

I thought before I took a nap that an orgasm might help me sleep better and help get things started and that's probably what "caused" the discharge. I would call my midwife, but I don't think I could tell her what I was doing. (it's more of a saying it out loud than anything...I'd actually be more worried about my dh or mom overhearing than telling my midwife)

So I'm just going to wait and see what happens.

exciting!! i dont think the midwife would think thats too weird (about the orgasm thing) and i dont think you would have to tell her anyways, these things start happening naturally

im having kinda snotty stuff come out when i pee/wipe so im wondering the same thing.. i dunno if i should get excited or not.. its not bloody though

Oooh, exciting! Good luck both of you!

I don't think the midwife would be shocked (don't know about your mom, though.).

You could leave that part out. Just say that you are having a little bit of a bloody show.

Well it sounds like a plug to me, especially at this stage in the game. Yours sounds like a plug too Mamafern. Mine was clear with my last baby. I haven't had any with this one and I am sooooo disappointed. I am a total TP watcher. Good luck to both of you. Maybe some of your birthing vibes will rub off on me.

I'm having snotty discharge on and off and have been for about a week but nothing too heavy. I am trying not to get excited until there is some blood on it. My mucus plug (which I saw clearly only with dd) was super obvious: a big hunk of... well stuff... I will spare you the details. With ds, I had just the show. Now, I am not sure. Is it just heavier discharge? Does it mean something is happening?

We should have little meters on our bellies we can check regularly.

Hope your bloody show means baby soon!

I've often thought it would be useful to have a magic 8 ball for a tummy when pregnant. Just shake it, ask it a question, and all mystery disperses.

I'm a TP watcher too. My last labour started with losing the mucous plug, which was more than just a little blood -- it was a big hunk o'goo. I keep looking for that this time, but all I'm getting is the snotty discharge. It's kind of funny that this pregnancy is ending the way it began...with me obsessing about what kind of mucous is in my vagina!
