waiting - a poem

I found this poem whilst searching info on "natural induction".. i thought it was lovely and wanted to share.

Waiting

Dear Baby, here beneath my heart,
I thought that you might come today;
The timing seemed just right.

But the stars are out
And the moon is high
And sheepishly I wonder why
I try to arrange the plans
Of (God) the great spirit

For now I know
You will not come
Until the One who holds eternity
Rustles your soft cocoon
And whispers in tones that I will not hear,
"It's time, precious gift."

"Now it's time."

Oh man I am way too emo & hormonal & mushy these days for things such as this. It made me teary & full of emotion. I love it, thanks for sharing it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that just teared up!

Thanks, Mama Fern - that is so perfect for all of us waiting mamas....
I have been in prodromal since midnight, trying to stay positive. I am going to copy that to read to keep my focus on this precious babe coming at the right moment.
Thanks again, and positive gentle birthing vibes to all waiting mamas!

I am not the sentimental type (can you tell?!) but this one really did get to me. It would be a good poem to carry around with me and give to all my loved ones, and to look at myself when it's 5:30 at night and my daily routine of induction techniques have led to nada.
