You would find it at Walgreens, Longs, Rite Aid, or any other pharmacy. Look in the enema section. Good luck!

hasn't done anything yet. I just ate dinner so I might wait and then take some before bed. Maybe I should have taken the whole dose. On the bottle says it takes 6-12 hours to work, a lot of stuff on-line says 2-6, though. I should have had a more empty stomach when I took it maybe -- I had had a small meal 30 min before.

So I guess my plan is to take some more before bed if nothing happens by then.

I took it at 6 and 7 days overdue. My MW recommended 2 oz. mixed with whatever I wanted. It doesn't really smell or taste at all. It's just very oily feeling and I had to wipe my mouth after every swallow. But it didn't make me nauseous at all. It worked in about 5 hours.

It gave me contractions the first day but they went away as soon as the diarrhea was over. The second day I had diarrhea again, but no contractions. Didn't work for me, I'm still pregnant. I was ripe, dilated to 3, and at least 50% effaced.

But I personally know a gal who took it at 4 days overdue and 4 cm. dilated and she had her baby that night. So experiences vary.

I might be willing to try again if I'm still pregnant on Friday morning. I don't know how much more I can take.

Fresh Blood!

I was just about to post about some irregular contrations that I have been having and I got up to go to the bathroom first and there was the "bloody show"! The contractions are still irregular, I think, but they are the first real ones that I have had, so I think they are significant. I still haven't had any laxative effects -- since things seem to be progressing I am not going to take any more castor oil tonight.

We plan on watching a movie, relaxing and getting some sleep.

good luck! Keep us posted. I am going to be trying a date with Swiss Kriss myself tomorrow morning if nothing happens tonight. I really hope it happens tonight. Good luck to you too.

I would like to hear how things worked for you castor oil people - Swiss Kriss did not do anything except give me gas and a upper GI stomachache. It didn't even act as a laxative. Damn you, Swiss Kriss!

i dont know what ill do if this doesnt work for me.. slowly go crazy maybe!

but i just got a call from a florist saying someone mysterious has sent me flowers and will deliver them at 1:00 so maybe thats a good sign that it will work. the universe works in amazing ways! ive always wanted to have beautiful flowers in my birthing room

are you worried about trying the castor oil because of your sensitive tummy?

Yes, I am worried about it for that reason. I have had IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) since about age 20, and when it gets badly irritated, I start puking to the point of going into ER to get rehydrated. Fun times. Not what I want to do. But desperate times call for...

Well, swiss kriss may have helped. Or the coffee (which irritates me as well - I drank it on purpose) I had this morning - I just had a LOT of blood when I went to the ahem, bathroom. I have no idea what bloody show is, to be perfectly honest. This was dark red blood? Thickish? Not clots.

What an awesome surprise - flowers! Very nice of your mysterious someone!

i would call my midwife about that. i dont think you should really have blood like that but i dont know for sure.. bloody show is more like light spotting...

I must have a cast iron stomach or something. I took the castor oil 2oz, with 2oz OJ at 830am on 11/27. At 915am I was pooping my brains out until there was nothing left. At 12pm I decided to follow the castor oil with some Indian food. Got home and pooped that out. Took a shower, had some sex. And not a one contraction. Can you believe that? I am now 2 days overdue 11/28. Oh well. It looked like it worked for Plagio! How about you Fern? Any babies yet?
