WOW this is a big ol' due date club! April must be the happenin' birth month for 2006!
I am new to the club, so I thought I would post a little intro. My name is Megan, and I'm mom to one 18 mo old DD (Mia
) and full time step mom to 13 yr old DSS (Sultan
). We live in the town of Sonoma, CA, where I am a SAHM and DH works in the tech industry. We are expecting a new little bundle of BOY joy to arrrive sometime around 4/8/06 (I'm currently 20.5 weeks).
So yeah, you might be wondering why I'm new to the club at such a point in my pg. Well, it's certainly not becuase I'm shy
, or becuase I didn't know about the clubs! (I still actively participate in my ddc group from DD's birth - same group as KKmama
MMF!
) I'm here all tardy like becuase I just found out I was pg less than a week ago. Yep, you read that right. Last week I went to the gyn about my chronic urinary tract infections (oh how they plague me
) and after a long chat and an exam, she felt something in my belly. I sorta freaked becuase she said my bladder or an ovary might be enlarged
so she pulled out the u/s to check out what was going on. You can only imagine my surprise when we both saw a little baby in there! This was me ---->

I was THRILLED with the news (as was DH) even if I was shocked and feeling a bit foolish about it all. See, I never really got my cycle back, and I just never put together all the symptoms I was having, as they were quite different than the symptoms I had w/ DD. Go figure.
So anyways, I just had a level 2 u/s to date the pg and make sure all is well (it is
). And as I mentioned above, we also found out we are having a boy. We are excited beyond belief, and I must say... it's pretty cool to be halfway through the pg already!
We are planning an HBAC and I am happily feeling VERY confident about it. Pre pg, I was a little nervous that I might be more scared than confident (DD's birth was a run away train, heavy on interventions and ended in a c/s - NOT NOT NOT what I wanted at all, obviously) but I am feeling so, so good and have 100% trust in myself that I can do this! DH is super supportive (DD's birth really opened his eyes to how gnarly a hospital birth can be) and we are both looking forward to the experience.
So yeah, that's me, in a nutshelll. I'm looking forward to joining in on all the chit chat
and getting to know everyone.
