Just wondering...my ds is almost 8 months old. The last few days I have been feeling very overwhelmed, crying a lot, and today had to keep myself from slapping him. I hate to even type that, it makes me cry. I love him so much. He is a horrible horrible sleeper, waking on average 10 times a night, and I am a SAHM. I have had seasonal depression in the past (2 years ago), so this isn't a good time of year for me, I'm always afraid of it coming back. I cured that with acupuncture and nutrition, but feel like I'd die if I ever had to go through the pain again.I am so sad. Anxious. I took that quiz at the top of the forum and scored a 40...borderline. Any input? I can't go throught it again.

Bennifer, I'm really sorrry you're going through these feelings right now. I am hoping and sure that someone will give you more concrete advice. I just wanted to say hello and that you have my sympathies. DS (2.5 y/o) was a horrible sleeper for months (waking between 10-15 times a night, easily) and it really takes a toll on one's sanity. I went through similar feelings and it was awful. DH works nights so was not home for a relief. My first thought is for you to find someone somehow to help out to give you a bit of napping time during day or night. And see your family doctor too to discuss feelings? It's a rough time when one isn't sleeping and I think the effect of sleep deprivation can not be underestimated.

I agree that sleep deprivation plays a big role in depression and all the things that go along with it. I currently have a baby that wakes at least 5-10 times/night and a toddler that is up by 6 am everyday. I'm so sleep deprived that I'm incredibly angry all the time. I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I wish I had some advice for you. My dr. has been giving me vitamin shots and that seems to help a little bit.
