Camprunner - Glad you'll be able to make it! Doesn't it warm your heart to see your dh getting into the spirit?
After Aurelia was born, my dh suddenly decided he wants to be an hb activist. He started getting much more passionate about the subject.

What a wonderful journey to experience together as a couple and a family.

This month's meetup was nice. Our chosen venue was closed, but we easily re-routed everyone to the Mongolian Grill in the same shopping center.

The food was good and so was the company.

Supporters included myself w/ dh & 2 :yawning: : dds, one doula w/ dh & :yawning: ds, our meetup organizer (also ing Mama) and doula with her dd.

I've just started a discussion thread and a new poll at the meetup site. We're choosing a venue for February. Please visit and give us your thoughts/suggestions!

We enjoyed a good meetup at Cici's. I think there was a general agreement that we won't be meeting there anymore, though... distracting. We'll be looking for other ideas for next month's venue. (Maybe a bundle up park day?)
According to our RSVPs, there were over 30 in attendance.

Dh & I enjoyed seeing the other families & meeting some new people. There were several homebirthing families besides us .

We're looking forward to next month's meetup already.

I'm from Goldsboro...mom and dad are still there...and we go home often (dd and I) since dh is in the military and deploys often. We were going to go home for this deployment (Aug-Feb) but I am pg and due in Nov...mom and dad want me to go there, but I WILL NOT deliver in g-boro...no way, no how. I want a home birth and mom and dads home isn't comfortable for me...they would be on my case every minute to go to the hospital! SOOOO...I THOUGHT of going to the birthing center in/near Wilmington, but it's quite a drive...and I only had a 7 hr labor with dd (baby #1)...soooooo.....
Gonna have a HB here in Ohio...but I wish I could have a home there in NC and I would love to come to your meeting!

Bobbi, it's Laura from the Goldsboro Attachment Parenting group. I don't think there is a birthing center in/near wilmington is there? I think Chapel Hill would be the closest. You could always contact some of our midwives in this area. I think that after a few appointments your parents would trust them 100%. It took only one or two appointments for my husband to trust my midwife after being dead set against homebirth.
