I'm so upset and disappointed. I drove almost an hour and a half to go to this meeting but when I got to the park I couldn't find the group. Is there a particular spot where you usually meet or do you have some way of identifying yourselves? I am new and have never met anyone in the group before so I couldn't look for a person that I recognized.

MarineWife - I'm so sorry we didn't connect. Where did you look for us?
When I arrived with my one-year-old in a sling and my (almost)three -year-old, three other members were sitting at a picnic table by the swings, and I joined them. There was myself with my toddlers, a doula and her preschool-aged daughter and couple expecting their first baby.

I was there until after 6PM, and periodically wandered to the two separate playground-areas and approached strangers to ask if they were there for the homebirth meetup. While that made for some interesting conversations, unfortunately none of them were you.

Please feel free to follow the links in my signature below this post or check out my page to view pictures of my family (and me). Next month I will bring my dh as well. The meetup signs are about the size of an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper, so not very visibile in a park setting. I will get creative next month with some cardboard and markers.

Thanks Jenny. I walked around through the playgrounds and around the picnic tables. I saw a group with balloons that looked like a birthday party and a group that I approached that turned out to be a soccer group. I did see several other people with children playing around the playground equipment but no one else that seemed to be a group.

We tend to meet at the lone picnic table next to the swings so that we all have a place to sit down & we're near both play areas. I am never sure how many folks will turn up for a particular meetup. Lately, just a handful of us. Once in a while, most of our membership will come to a particular meetup. Of the ten (including children) who RSVPd, there were 7 of us - 4 adults. I received a message from one member who couldn't make it. I check out the profiles of folks who RSVP yes & try to keep a mental note of how many pregnant ladies/toddlers/husbands, etc. to look for.

Because my husband wasn't there last Saturday, I spent most of the time chasing after Aurelia, who likes to go on treasure hunts for strangers' things at public places. That day, she found car keys, a bottled water, and a sippy cup. I must be quite a sight trying to carry on conversations and randomly darting after Raley. This is probably the best way to spot me.

The same thing happened to me a little over a year ago and even though I have since met successfully at the park, it really turned me off of going to the park for meetups
