alternatives to piercing ears

My dd (5 1/2) has expressed interest in wearing earrings but I don't feel she is ready to have her ears pierced yet. I would like to offer her some non-piercing alternatives that she could wear if she chooses.

I found a site that sells clip on earrings for kids ages 4-10. http://www.cliptomania.com/kidcorpet.html

Any other places to get non-pierced earrings?

I've seen magnetic earings at "Clairs."
Clip on's always hurt my ears.

i would say so... my friend had a fake one in her nose. but with a kid, easier to pull off, swallow, choke.

In my experience, many clip-ons hurt more, and for longer than the actual piercing does. Of course you can take them off, but if you can't stand to wear them what's the point of having them, especially if you are trying to avoid pain?

My cousins wore stick-on earrings for many years, and one still does as she hasn't gotten her ears pierced yet. They just got the ones at the dollar store. The older one switched to magnetic earrings when she got to the pre-teen stage where the kiddie sort of stick-ons didn't cut it anymore. They both tried clip-ons, but never found any that were comfortable enough to wear for very long and that would STAY on.

I'd go for the stick-ons if I felt my daughter wasn't mature enough to handle having actual piercings. If you find some comfy clip-ons, please share the info!

Thanks for the input everyone.
I think I'll get a few different types and see what is most comfortable for dd. I don't imagine she will want to wear them all day every day.

You might consider ear cuffs, too; they sort of hang on the edge of the ar.

I'd consider the stickers.

I remember getting my ears pierced and wearing lots of "fakes" before that. Clip ons tended to hurt until my ears went numb
I did have a pair of "screw ons" those were good because I could tighten them enough so they wouldn't fall off, but not so much that they hurt KWIM?
Magnets were like clip on's they hurt until numb unless the magnetics were weak, but then they would fall off. Of couse in a 5 year old earlobe maybe the weak magnets would be ok.
