14 Week Twin Belly & Upcoming Appointment...

Oh my... I feel like I felt around 20ish weeks with Rachel. My belly has far passed my boobs, no normal clothes fit anymore, and my normal size M has been upgraded to a size XL.

Belly!

I have an appointment Monday morning, and we're hoping to learn a lot more about our situation, and get lots of questions answered that I've been mulling over for the past month! It hardly seems like it's been four weeks since we got the twins bombshell - I am still processing it most days.

You look really cute mama! I can only imagine what it's like preparing for twins!

You are a beautiful mama, and that is an impressive belly. Twins, how wonderful (and perhaps a bit intimidating too)! Do you have other children?

You look cute! And I agree, the top is adorable. My tummy is almost as big as yours and I only have one in there as far as we know so what's my excuse?!

Let us know how your appointment goes!

You look fabulous, and very excited. I think it would be harder to conteplate twins after having been through this before. Do you WOTH? Are you going to have to make a lot of changes to your lifestyle?

I got lots of "it must be twins!" comments last time, and I'm getting even more this time. If I hadn't already had 2 u/s, I think I would be crying when people say that. At least you can grin and say, "Yes, it is!" Oh, but then you get to hear all sorts of nonsense....

I can't wait to hear more about this! I admit I have a big fear of twins. My mom's cousin had one son, then got pg with twins whe he was 9 mos old, THEN got pg with ANOTHER SET OF TWINS when the first set was 3 mos old. Can you imagine??? Ok. There's some of the crappy nonsense you're going to spend the next 6 months listening to. Sorry!

That's when lactation amenorrhea would be really handy, ya know? Yikes! That's be like five kids under age three right?

Ooooo balawre what a darling pic! You look fabulous (and add me to the list of those top admirers!)
Best of luck with the twins - I just saw a first time mama with 6 month old twins and she was handling like a pro. Many thoughts of blessings to you in this journey!!

Yeah, this was the 60s so I'm guessing she didn't nurse. If this wasn't someone in my family I wouldn't even believe this story.

It's pretty believable really considering how quickly fertility returns when you're not nursing. What's up in the air is how long LA lasts when you are nursing.

you look gorgeous, mama!!

please let us know what you found out at your appointment!

Congratulations! You look great. My twins are 10 months old now. The time flies by.

And for everyone wondering -I was nursing twins and got pg at 9 months PP without having a period return.

Thank you so much everyone! Talk about a boost reading comments.

We were going to be finished with two children total, so this will be our last pregnancy. I don't know if I could handle 3 children under three and another set of little twins!

The appointment went semi-decently. We got to hear both heartbeats! He is really pushing the GD test very early since Rachel was a large baby, but I keep shrugging it off.

We also found out that our hospital requires twins to be delivered in the OR. I am still wondering how I can get around that and have a water birth. It didn't seem like something I could work around, but I suppose I can just always refuse to move. It seems a moot point to me in this hospital because the OR is literally 3 doors down from the L&D rooms. Why not have the people you need for an emergency on standby in the OR, and if I have an emergency then fine and if not then let me be.

I'll figure it all out eventually!

I birthed my twins at home (yay waterbirth!) but all the hospitals around here do require that you deliver in the OR. Other twin moms have said it's still a good experience, that you can bring candles and music, etc to set the atmosphere.

Good luck to you!
